H: Yes. I lived in Cairns a few years ago!
Y: So, can you tell me about Cairns?
H: Sure! Well, let's talk about city of Cairns first!
Y: If I remember correctly, Cairns is pretty upper side in Australia?
H:Upper side...means north side. Cairns locates in northeast side in Australia, state of Queensland.
Y:Yeah, that's it, north. So, it locates more closer side to Japan.
H: Yes. I used to live there a few years ago!
Y: Then, can you tell me about Cairns?
H: Of course! First, I will tell you about Cairns city!
Y: I remember that Cairns is located on the quite upper side in Australia isn't it?
H: Upper side...It's North side. Cairns is in Queensland located in the northeastern part of Australia.
Y: Yeah, that's right. It's North side. So it is closer to Japan.
H:Yeah, I was living there a few years ago.
Y:Then, you can tell me about Cairns, can't you?
H:Of course! Then let's start about Cairns City.
Y:I think Cairns is on "up" side of Australia, right?
H:"up"...it's north. Cairns is located on northeast of Australia, in Queensland.
Y:ahh yes, it's north. So it's closer city from Japan.
Y: There is few time difference, isn't it?
H:Cairns is one hour ahead than Tokyo. So, you don't have to worry about jet lag.
Y: It is nice that I don't have to worry about jet lag! If I suffer from jet lag, I cannot move active, and most of all, it is hard after I come back form trip. I must be tired and get lazy, and what's worse, jet lag makes my brain slow down more.
Y: Also there is no time difference, is there?
H: Cairns is only one hour ahead of Japan. So you do not have to worry about jet lag.
Y: It is really good that there is no worry about it! If I get jet lag, I will feel disoriented and cannot move around a lot. Also, it will be hard for me when I come back. I will be already tired and dragging but jet lag will make me worse and my brain will stop working.
Y:There isn't so much time difference, right?
H:Cairns is only one hour ahead, so don't worry about jet lag.
Y:That's really great I don't need to worry about it! If I get jet lag, I will have a thick head and won't be active there, after coming back to Japan is troublesome more than anything. it's because of tiredenss so I will be less active, and to make matters worse, jet lag make my brain work slower and slower.
Y: Right. Maybe that's one of the reasons why it's a popular travel destination for Japanese tourists?
H: Well, that could be, but other than that, Cairns itself has its own attractions! Actually, lots of tourists from Japan as well as from America and Europe visit there!
And it's a gateway to Great Barrier Reef, one of the the World Heritage Site.
Y: Ok. That is why Cairns is popular for Japanese poeple?
H: Well, Cairns is a very attractive city anyway! As well as Japanese, there are a lot of tourists from other ares such as America and Europe! Also, Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, a World Heritage site.
Y: I think so too. Is that the reason why Cairns are so popular among Japanese?
H: Even it's not, it's because besically Cairns is really attractive city. Not only from Japan, but from USA or Europe. a lot of tuorists come! It's also the gateway to one of the World Herritage Site, Great Barrier Reef.
Y: OK. So how many people come for sightseeing?
H: Two million tourists come to Cairns every year. So there is crowded with tourists. There is a retired couples who are fascinated with the atmosphere of a warm southern land and come over.
Y: Wow. It's because of the attractive town. How many tens of thousands of people live there?
H: Cairns has a population of 130,000 people. But as I told you, there are many tourists every time so the town have a lot of spark!
Y: Ok. Well, about how many people go to travel there?
H: As many as two million people visit Cairns each year. That is why it is a very busy city. Retired couples are sometimes attracted by the atmosphere of warm shouthern country and migrate there.
Y: I see. That is because it is a very attractive city. About how many people live there?
H: The population of Cairns is 130 thousand. But as I said before, lots of tourists visit there, so it is a very busy city.
Y:OK. then I wonder how many people come to visit for sightseeing.
H:about two million tuorists visit Carins each year. That's why it's so bustle with people. I heard retirement couples migrate there because they were attracted by warm southern country's atmosphere.
Y:Really? That's because Carins really has so much fascination. How many people live there?
H:Carins population is a hundred thirty thousand. but as I told you before, there are always alive with many tuorists!
H: The city center isn't so large. I'd say it's size is ideal for strolling around. You see lots of sub-tropical trees and plants everywhere in the city. You also see wild birds in a park, hotel courtyard and along the streets. The local people and tourists enjoy watching various kinds of birds there.
H: The central part of Cairns city is not so big. It is good size to go around. There are subtropical plants growing everywhere. Also you can see many wild birds at parks, yards of hotels and at the side of roads. Peole living there abd tourists can enjoy watching many kinds of birds.
H:The heart of the city is not so big. It's big enough to take a walk. Throughout the city, there are a lot of semitropic plants, and you can see many wild birds at the park , Hotel's courtyard or side ofthe road. Variety of birds make local people and tuorists happy.
H: Isn't it? I was spending those relaxing time when I was staying in Cairns. I could feel that the time was going slower than was in Japan.
Y: That sounds charming. Anyway, you told me the center is not that big. How big is it?
H: Exactly! While I was staying in Cairns, I spent this relaxing time almost everyday. I could feel that time ran slowly there whitch I cannot feel it in Japan.
Y: That is lovely time. By the way, you said the central part of the city is not so big but how big is it ?
H:Sure is. While I was staying Carins, I spent everyday feeling relax. It's different from being Japan, I could feel time flew slowly.
Y:That's nice! By the way you said the heart of the city is not so big, how big is it?
Y: uh... Sort of...
H: Does it make sense, if I say you can see all the shops in half a day even you take your time for your shopping?
Y: Oh, no. Half a day can be gone after visiting two or three shops.
H: Hey, how long are you spending in a shop? That's why women's shopping are...
Y: Well, maybe...
H: Let's say, even if you take time to do shopping, half a day is enough to go around. Now is it clear?
Y: Well, if you say half a day, that means I can have a look at two or three shops and that's it.
H: Oh, well. How much do you think you shop at one shop? That's why women are...
