皆さん、お元気のことと思います。
SONYとの契約更新は、私とSONY持株のA財務部長との話し合いによって、最終的に契約をすることが出来ました。SAPにとって必ずしも完全に満足のゆく内容ではなかったものの、今後とも、SAP/REPを使ってSONYの財務のグローバル化の推進が継続されることが決まったことを、私は大変嬉しく思っています。当初、強硬な意見を主張していた、SONY持株のBさんやSONYリースのCさんも、Tomさんの温かいご配慮を含め、この結果には感謝しています。
For the renewal of contract with SONY, according to the talk with SONY share-holding Mr. A, the finance departmental manager, the final contract has been done. Due to SAP, though there were some contents that has to be completely satisfied, in future, I am very glad that the propulsion of SONY's finance globalization is to be continued using SAP/REP. Initially, they have insisted on their resolute opinions, but including the warm considerations of SONY shareholding Mr. B and SONY lease Mr. C, I am thankful to this result.
The contract renewal with SONY could finally go to contract by talks with I and the finance director of SONY. Although the content for SAP was not satisfactory, we are very happy as SONY's financial globalization using SAP/REP will continue in the future, too. At first, SONT holding company's Mr. B who insisted his strong opinion and SONY lease's Mr. C and including Tom's warm consideration are all grateful for this result.
さて、先週の金曜日に、SONYリースのBさんとSONY持株のCさんと彼らの同僚2名が私のオフィスに来ました。その時の議論を踏まえ、SAPに関連する最近のSONYの動きをご報告します。
1.人事異動について
一般的には、日本の企業では数年単位で人事異動が行われます。
今回、Bさんは他のSONYグループ企業へ転出し、その後任がDさんです。また、Dさんは同じ持株会社・営業部に新しく作られたグローバル部門へ異動となり、その後任はEさんです。一緒に来た2名とは、DさんとEさんのことです。
1. Transfer of personnel
In general, companies in Japan transfer the staff every several years.
This time B will be transferred to another affiliate of Sony and D will take over his position.
D will be transferred to global department that was newly established in sales section of the holding company and E will take over his position. 2 staff who came with them are D and E.
1. For personnel change
Generally, in Japanese companies personnel change is carried on every few years.
This time, Mr. B moved to another SONY group company and for him Mr. D took over him. Also, Mr. D moved to global department newly made at the same holding company/sales department and Mr. E took his position. Those who came to my office were Mr. D and Mr. E.
もちろん、この二人は、私は30年以上に渡って部下として使ってきました。特に、私は、Dさんの結婚式の仲人も勤めました。DさんとEさんは、私に対して、今後ともSAPのサポートを受けながら、SONYのグローバル展開を推進していきたいと約束してくれています。
また、SONYテレコムにおいては、財務部長のFさんが異動し、後任はGさんです。SONYビジネスの財務部長のHさんが退任し、後任はJさんです。この二人とも、私は古くからの友人ですし、定期的に意見交換を行っています。
I was a go-between in wedding ceremony of D. D and E promised that they will proceed the global development of Sony under the support of SAP in the future.
In Sony Telecom, F in finance department was transferred and G takes over his position.
H, manager of finance department in Sony Business, retires and J takes over his position.
These 2 staff are my friend for a long time, and we exchange our opinion regularly.
Also, at SONY Telecom, the financial director, Mr. F moved. His post was taken by Mr. G. SONY Business's finance director, Mr. H retired and Mr. J took his position. These two are my old friends and regularly exchange opinions.
なお、今年は異動しませんでしたが、来年には、SONYグループの財務部門を統括しているSONY持株のKさんが異動し、後任には、私が推薦するLさんが就任することとなっています。Lさんは私が12年間直接指導した、グローバル財務のエキスパートです。来年には、SONYグループの財務のグローバル化は格段に進展することでしょう。
ここで説明した人事異動は、今年の7月以降に公表されるものです。それまでは社外秘としてください。

2.グローバル展開について
今後のグローバル展開の進め方について、SONYの4名が話した内容は以下の通りです。
今後のグローバル展開の進め方についてはSONYグループ全体の経営目標である事業のグローバル化の推進に合わせて、積極的に取り組んでいく予定である。特に、SONYテレコムにおいては、EMEAで使っている為替管理及び支払い集中に関する機能/モジュールが非常に有効なので、これを中心に拡大していきたい。

With regards to the proceeding method for the future global expansion, matching it with the globalization propulsion with the business on the overall sales objective, it is scheduled to be tackled actively. Especially in SONY telecom, as it uses EMEA, the functions and modules that relates to changing management and payment focus is extremely effective, it will be expanded with this as the core.
Here is the details those 4 from SONY discussed about regarding the way to proceed with the future development.
They are going to actively work on it along with the global promotion of the business which is the management objective of SONY group as a whole. Especially at SONY telecom, function/module regarding the foreign currency exchange management and payment concentrated at EMEA is extremely effective, we would like to focus on it to expand further.
What 4 staff of Sony have talked about how to proceed the global development in the future is listed below.
As for global development in the future, they will handle the globalization positively along with promotion of the globalization of business, which is a goal of management of the whole Sony Group.
As for Sony Telecom, as function/module in respect with exchange control and concentration of payment used at EMEA is very effective, they will expand by focusing on it.
SONYビジネスにおいては、多数の海外の子会社を対象に、先ず、資金の見える化から初めて機能の高度化をはかり、SONYテレコムの状況を参考にしつつ拡大していきたいと考えている。
一方、ERPの課題として、いまだに財務数値の端数処理や金利計算の日数処理等において、日本のやり方に合わない面があるので、その解決に向けてSAPにも協力をお願いしたいと思う。現在、SONYリースのMさんから色々とご相談しているが、SAPのスムーズな対応をお願いしたい。
On the other hand, as one of the topics of ERP, in matters such as rounding figures of the finance figures and the calculation processing of the interest calculation, there are areas where it does not match to Japan's way of doing, hence I would like to get the cooperation of SAP towards this solution. Currently, I have discussed with Mr. M of SONY lease, and would like to request for a smooth correspondence of SAP.
ERP challenges, on the other hand, some of the financial value's rounding process and interest rate calculation process for the number of days do not match with the Japanese way, so we would like SAP to cooperate to resolve the issue. Currently Mr. M from Sony Lease has been consulting with you with various matters, and we would like SAP to provide smooth support.
もちろん、クラウド/SaaSサービスにどこまで個別の問題への対応をお願いできるかについてSONYとしても考えているが、これは日本の企業全体にとっても同じ問題であるので、是非、解決を図って頂きたい。
最後に、SONYからNさんが退社したことは、既に、一部のSONYのメンバーは知っていました。当面、戦略的な問題があった場合には、SONYから私に相談したいと言っていました。技術的なことについては、従来どおり、SONYリースでのミーティングで議論して行きたいという事でした。
Last of all, as for Mr. N who have resigned from SONY, I think that a few SONY members have already known this. For the time being, in the event where there are strategic problems, SONY have said said that they would like to discuss it with me. For technical stuff, as per normal, I would like to discuss it during SONY lease's meetings.
Lastly, some of SONY members were aware that Mr. N had left from SONY already. SONY for the time being says it wants to consult with me in the case of any strategic issues. As for the technical matters, it wants to discuss during SONY lease meeting as ever.
Lastly, some SONY members has already known that Mr. N left SONY. In the meantime, if there is a strategic problem, he would like to talk to me through SONY. He prefers to discuss at SONY lease meetings about technical matters as usual.
