When we joined Japanese-Chinese student conference, my friend gave a fan bought in Kyoto.
When I met him one year later when he came to Japan, he gave me expensive Chinese tea set and I hesitated to receive it. He didn't say directly but when I asked our common friend, Chinese have strong culture to return politely when they receive gift, and he felt guilty a bit when he received expensive souvenir from me lasy year. After this incident, I reconfirmed that we need to understand both cultures even though some behaviour are believed as common sense.

When I participated in Sino-Japanese student conference, I gave a folding fan I had purchased in Kyoto to a friend as a present. When I met him 1 year after that when he came to Japan, he gave me a very expensive Chinese equipment of tea. It was difficult for me to receive it since it was so expensive.
Later I heard from an acquaintance both he and I know that Chinese people strongly believe in giving back an item when they receive a present. He seems to have been feeling burden a little about he had received the expensive item from me last year. By this, I confirmed again that we have to consider even the style of act we believe to be common sense in terms of cultural difference.

When I attended the Japanese-Chinese student meeting, I gave a fan bought from Kyoto to a friend.
Now, when I met him again one year later in Japan, I received a very expensive Chinese tea set which I was uncomfortable about due to the price. At that time, although I did not tell him directly, I later knew from a mutual acquaintance that the Chinese have this mentality of always giving a return gift when they receive one. I think he was probably feeling burdened about the expensive souvenir I gave to him. As a result of this incident, I realized again the importance of re-looking at actions which seem like common sense through different cultural perspectives.

After that, I start thinking about response sensitively when I communicate with foreigners.

I think our brain tend to notice many things when we face to new places, human, contents, as much as detailed information which our five senses received. Environment without Japanese, different languages, culture in USA provide us continuous "new matters," and we want to see surrounding environment all the time, destroy our thinking value, and want to develop. Also now I feel that Japanese style is not comfortable because we are educated in many people, and not much interaction, and input is weighed.

Since then when I communicate with foreign people I have started to get more sensitive to how those will react to what I say or do.

I think our brain tends to start to be able to notice a lot of things even something very little out of the information our five senses receives when our brain interacts with new places, people and contents. The land of America where there is no Japanese people, where different language is spoken in different cultural backgrounds is definitely a place you will get “new things” all the way so I just would like to destroy my mindsets and rebuild them all over again looking at what’s surrounding me always. Also, I began to wonder if the way we do in our classrooms in Japan where there are bunch of students just sitting being not very interactive and working so hard just to input what we learn is the best way as I go under the education in Japan.

Since then, I have been very sensitive towards the other party's reaction when I interact with foreigners.

I think that the human brain is able to notice many things and process all sorts of information picked up by the 5 senses when they are in a new place or meeting new people. In the vast American land with different languages and culture and an environment where there are no Japanese, it is exactly the kind of situation that there are many new things happening consecutively. I hope to break free of my existing values and and rebuild them while paying close attention to my surroundings. In addition, I am starting to sense the difference about my education received in Japan where there is no interaction with the masses and a tendency to rely more on input.

When I listen to the talk of graduates, class in top class Japanese university is not only the extend of such thinking, the situation gets worse as the numbers in class increase. USA university education in small number and listen to student voices from variety of culture, and mix, is exactly my desired environment. Especially 〇 university is known as top class USA research university with my interested field such as sociology, computer science.

When I hear what a student who graduated speaks, even if we go to top university in Japan, classes are only on the extension of such an ideal and situation seems to be deteriorated by the number of students per class.
The class in the States where voice of students who come from many kinds of family is picked up and mixed as a result of education with small number of student is exactly my ideal environment. What is remarkable is xx University I am interested in is the top class research style university in the States in the field of sociology and calculation geometry.

While I hear the report of graduate,If I enter the top of university in Japan,I identified that the class was an extension of its idea. Moreover, the condition will continue to deteriorate for increasing the number of men.The class of university in America that picks up and mixes the student's voice of various origins in a small group is my ideal.〇 university specially rules as the U.S.top class of research university in sociology and computer science that I am interested.

また、◯大学がアメリカを目指すことをつい最近志した自分にとって、このような遅い時期までapplyするチャンスを与えてくれたことに深く感謝している。

Also I really appreciate this chance to apply until this late stage, as I recently started to aim as ◯ university's aim.

I have influenced by "the study of modern social phenomena", I always bring my notebook and my targets are the shape of objects in town, people's conversations, etc. Especially I like to image the background of such phenomena, and one of my theme is to come out different idea from others when I see the same thing.

In addition, for myself who recently started to aim for entry into ◯ University in America, I am very grateful to be given a chance to apply despite it being so late in the application period.

As I had been affected by the idea of modernology on the road, I walk around with a notebook and observe everything such as the shapes of objects on the streets and what people say. In particular, I like to imagine what lies behind these phenomena. When I see something similar, one key theme for me is to bring up information different from others.

In university, I want to commit to the field of natural science widely, and give logical backbone to the structure of society analyzed only by the feeling in high school days.
If I want to grow, it is important to be in good environment first. If it is impossible, I try to make it by myself, and have been carrying it out so far. In Sino-Japanese student conference, I obtained a chance to observe a great cultural zone that is different from the country I live in as the first high school student in the conference.
I also started carrying out a new idea in school such as introducing philosophical conversation as president of student council.

If I want to develop myself, it is important to stay in better environment at first, and if I cannot receive it, I want to build myself. and I have done so. During Japanese-Chinese student conference as pioneer high school student, I obtained a chance to understand big culture closely which is different from my own country , and I changed my school culture as student council president, and I introduce philosophical discussion.
