This remastering combines two albums from 1950 jazz and pop stylist Julie London, JULIE AT HOME and AROUND MIDNIGHT, for 24 songs highlighted by "Lonesome Road," "Let There Be Love," and "Party's Over"
Julie London released nearly 25 albums for the successful label Liberty Records from 1955 to 1965, the best of which are represented on the CD two-fer Julie...At Home/Around Midnight. The success of her 1955 hit "Cry Me a River" put Liberty into overdrive and London responded by making some of the strongest records of her career. Her ability to interpret a song was at its strongest in the late '50s and early '60s, as is evidenced on 1959' intimate Julie...At Home and the sophisticated 1960 album Around Midnight.

このマスタリングし直した2枚のアルバムは1950年からのジャズとポップスタイリストのジュリーロンドンの"JULIE AT HOME"と"AROUND MIDNIGHT"で、"Lonesome Road"と"Let There Be Love"と"Party's Over"に代表される24曲が収録されています。

The two albums have a decidedly different feel (one late evening, the other being after hours). The first half (actually recorded in London's living room) is a warm and relaxed evening of romance and longing, beginning with her other signature song, "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To." The latter half is decidedly cooler, both in mood and instrumentation, evoking a much darker and more nocturnal feel. The drowsy "Black Coffee" and lazy "Lush Life" typify the late-night feel of the album, leading right into "The Wee Small Hours of the Morning.

Looks aside, what really matters is how the tenor plays...which is great! The intonation is excellent and the horn plays freely and smoothly throughout the entire range. Most of the pads appear to be original, but they're in amazing condition. It's clear to me that this horn was played for only a short time and then put away. These pads have lots of life in them and will be fine for a good, long while. I've had the horn gone over, pads seated and any pads that needed replacing replaced, so this horn is gig ready.

目を逸らして。本当にすごいのはテノール...素晴らしい！音調が絶品で最初から最後までホルン奏者が自由にのびのびと演奏している。パッドのほとんどがオリジナルのようだけれど、素晴らしいコンディションです。このホルンは少ししか吹かれず、片付けられたのがはっきりわかります。このパッドには人生がたくさんつまっていて、ずっと、永久に素晴らしい。私はこのホルンをきれいにして、パッドを取り付け、取替えの必要なパッドは取り替えた。だからこのホルンはコンサートに出しても大丈夫。

As you can see from the pictures this sax has not been kept in the case for it's entire life but it has been quite well maintained. There is a serial number of sorts hand engraved in the bow. I don't know how or why this was done, neither did the person from whom I bought this sax. If I had to guess I would suspect that this horn at one time belonged to a college (it would be in MUCH worse shape if it were a high school instrument). There is also evidence of a repair done around the Eb key guard, though it was quite well done and aside from the odd scuffing pattern and the solder to the key guard posts you wouldn't really notice. This sax also comes with a Selmer Light case, complete with backpack straps.

写真でお分かりのように、このサックスはこれまでケースに入れて保存されていませんでしたが、保存状態はとてもいいです。弓なりの部分にはシリアルナンバーが手彫りされています。これは何故だかわかりませんし、私がこのサックスを買った人でもありません。推測するにこのホルンはかつて大学のものだったのではないでしょうか。（もし高校だったらもっともっと悪くなっていたでしょう。）Ebキーボードのあたりに修理の後がありますが、きれいに直してあって、妙なけば立ちとキーボードのハンダの他はほとんど気になりません。このサックスは背負い紐のついたセルマーライトのケースに入れてお届けします。

Like the horn this case has been well used but all told is in quite excellent condition. Pads are in fair condition, nothing is needed to play this sax but I'd be lying if I said they were new. To sum it up this is an awesome Mark VII tenor that has lead a workhouse life but been treated with respect. Don't bid on this horn if you want a pristine Mark VI with a 5 digit serial number or you think how a sax looks while sitting in a case is more important than how it plays. Do bid on this sax if you want an awesome horn that may not have that fine patina like a portrait of the queen but can rock day in and day out without having to justify itself.

She is gorgeous and in NRFB condition! The inner tissue does have a small tear. This fabulous set also includes the fabulous reproduction "Silken Flame" fashion created for the Silkstone body in NRFB condition as well. The fashion is also a limited edition of ONLY 270 pieces! Also included are other convention "goodies" which include: two tote bags, a Barbie luggage tag, Barbie posy-it notes, Barbie statue and many other fun items! This is a wonderful and VERY RARE set!
