Founded seven years back, they offer content from doctors to counter health illiteracy and provide access to said medical practitioners through online consultation and a healthcare network.

Gregorius Bimantoro, medical doctor and founder of TanyaDok, explained to e27 that while they have been seeing traction with some 200,000 active users, and 90,000 unique visitors every month, their biggest challenge is mainly user acquisition, particularly in reaching out to more and more users.”We see health interests are widely different, so we reach them from specific communities.”
With over 200 physicians from GPs to professors and superspecialists, TanyaDok shared that they have been receiving feedback from both consumers and doctors. While consumers are huge fans of their free online consultations, Gregorius shared that they have been asking for more specialists to conduct sessions. However, this poses as a problem as these specialists are often very busy.
Not only does TanyaDok help consumers by giving free online consultations, they also aid several non-government organizations (NGOs) to run digital campaigns and community outreaches like a partnership with WHO in the 2013 World Health Day Commemoration with Aksi Peduli Hipertensi. This month, they will be educating the public about tobacco control together with Komnas PT. These activities are run regularly, and consumers have found them very useful.
Gregorius also explained that there is a clear difference between online consultations and face-to-face meetings with doctors. Their primary goal is to provide better understanding on the conditions, refer them to experts who can and will handle it correctly, and if possible, help existing doctors who do not have enough time to explain the nitty-gritty. He raised an example of people getting headaches. “Random person went to big hospital, admit himself to meet Neurology Specialist. Is that correct? Perhaps.
But if only he know that his ‘headache’ is a symptom of vertigo from his hypertension [...] Online consultations with General Physicians will discover from Q&A what [his] problems [are] and refer to ENT also suggesting regular checkups especially with blood pressure.”
In the future, TanyaDok will move towards becoming the sole hub connecting all the dots in the healthcare industry. “Because we don’t stop at ‘consulting.’ We already did that for the last 7 years. To empower Indonesian healthcare, we need to connect the consumers, doctors, health care provider, homecare services, pharmacies, wellness/fitness services, wellness/healthy product, medical devices, healthy food, and insurance.”
