The Namiki Falcon Resin is both a terrific everyday writing pen, as well as an excellent lower-cost introduction to the world of quality fountain pens. With its soft semi-flexible nib, it is also, along with any Nakaya brand pen, as well as the Metal Falcon and Platinum Shoji and Century pens, one of the best starting points for John's well-known Spencerian customization - see the examples at the bottom of this page.
Seen above, the Falcon Resin is slightly shorter and lighter in weight than the Metal Falcon version, which also benefits from being able to use Pilot's larger CON-70 Push Converter. We know of no contemporary pens with a more flexible nib, though they lack the extreme flexibility found in some vintage pens. The Resin is a full sized pen at 5 3/8" long when capped. The diameter of the grip is comfortable for almost all hands.
