HOME as a theme
I am planning to design a production process with a keyword "home" for this residence.
During usual production process, I usually come up with an idea of a work after research. For this residence, I will conduct research and production having a base oversea for the first time where I can call it tentative "HOME". I had worked mainly in Japan and created works only with perspective from Japan as "HOME". I'd like to reflect relationship between research and production into the work more explicitly, by setting home in the new place.

HOME as a theme
I would like to create production process using "home" as a key word at this residence.
Usually I conceive idea of works after research in production. The residence has tentative "HOME" in overseas and performs research and production for the firast time. Thus far I have usually acted in Japan and created works only from the perspective of Japan as the "home". I wish to reflect the corelation between good research and production into works by means of settling another home in another place.

First off, I use the "Once every 30 seconds Discover Photo Studio (Mikke Dojo)" method which in recent years I have come to use a lot, and while doing town research with "Home" as the theme, it is not just myself, but I collaborate with resident artists and supporting residents. "Mikke Dojo" is a program where, at a proportional rate of about once every 30 seconds, one goes walking around town and finds subjects to photograph, taking about 1000 pictures in one day, with a picture-taking rate of one frame every 0.25 seconds (one second, four frames), and then during that same day screening the photos as they are.

At firrst I will collaborate with residence artist and neigbours who support us while I research holding "home" as a theme, using a method which was used in "MIKKE DOJO" (Photo school for finding out once in every 30 minutes) where I have acted recently. "MIKKE DOJI" is a programe to find out a subject once in about every 30 minutes and visualize in a rate of 1segment per 0.25 seconds (1second per 4 segments) and put on a screen on the same day.

By adding things like music and narration, You can add in diverse participation methods and presentation methods. So far, by improvisational photography and editing, lots of collaborative work has already been done and connected to exhibitions and live festivals.

Process towards a Masterpiece
Together with stacking up research on film technique and collaboration, go and make the work you have been sculpting until now with the "Home" theme seem came to doing piece you have been like sculpting. From there, I think I would like you to gather the scattered pictures and the physical sculpted work you made, and make one masterpiece for me.

Various different kinds of pieces of work are arranged on a one sheet floor of a wall. Holes are made in them and the pieces were connected with these holes one by one. This procedure creates a relationship between the surface and the back or the centering image of the floor and wall. With this “space language” these pieces of work express the meaning of HOME in various ways; a definite and unified shape as a floor or wall comes out in this way leading to a specific landscape.
Reference work A: Floor Land-Scape. Holes were cut in one large floor and multiple pieces of work were developed/displayed in them.

Individual works will be exhibited on a floor or a wall. On the floor or the wall, there are holes and works will be implicated with the holes. By doing that, the relationship between front and back or centrality will be created. Thanks to these spatial languages, multiple works will involve a wider variety of meanings of "HOME" and express a landscape in an physically aggregated form such as a floor or a wall.
Reference work A Floor landscape We made a hole on a big floor and exhibited some works on it.

About the keyword “HOME” and my past work:
Thinking of the keyword “HOME”, for example, can explain why I have made my past work.
I want to make new work at my future residence. (I will show my pieces as examples, but I may intake pieces of the artists, whom I will meet at my new dwelling.)

1.A work in which holes were made in an actual HOUSE:
By cutting many holes in an actual house to make it as a mere shell, I deliberately consider the relationship between the image of a house in my mind with the actually existing house.

HOME as a keyword and evolution of works in the past
For instance, intention of works in the past can be understood with a keyword, "home".
I would like to create new works in the residence. (I will exemplify my works but might adopt works of people whom I meet in the residence.)

1. A work with a hole on an actual house (HOME)
By making a lot of holes on an actual house, it becomes in-name-only. Then, I sought to understand the relationship between an imaginary house in my mind and a physical house.

4 MIKKE DOJO

2. The room and the bed.
In the HOME, there is my room and the bed. At the end of a day, I go to the bed. A day starts from the bed. Furthermore, the bed is an entrance to the world of sleeping.
3. The light bulb
I treat the light bulb as a symbol of the center and I make a piece of work regarding the center as aggregation. I started from an idea that there is definitely light (=a light bulb) in the center of a house and a room.
4. MIKKE DOJO
First of all, it began from an intention to observe the house, HOMETOWN, by way of experiment.

2. Room and bed
There is his or her own room and bed at HOME. At end of a day, he or she goes to bed. A day starts from the bed.
Also, the bed is an entrance to go into the world of sleep.
3. Light bulb
A light bulb is used as a centric symbol and the overall work is created by aggregation of the center. I come up with it from the concept that there always is a light, a light bulb, in the center of house or room.
4. MIKKE DOJO
First, it started from the idea that we observe HOME TOWN for an experiment.
