The customers package was lost during transit by the carrier in Tokyo and John send an email to seller requesting for a replacement and asking for the delivery date but the seller gave a nonsense respond such as Hello How do you do? Have a nice day. John is very worried that he might not get a replacement as soon as possible so he is willing to just get a refund for the order and purchase it from a different seller.

Candy Crush Saga hits China with upcoming tie-in on Tencent’s WeChat

Fasten your seatbelts and get out your toothbrushes, because an avalanche of hard candy is about to hit China. The Wall Street Journal just reported that Candy Crush Saga, the mega-hit mobile game made by London-based King Digital Entertainment, will be integrated into Tencent’s wildly popular WeChat messaging app. Tencent tells Tech In Asia that the localized game will be released this summer.

Tencent Leads $35 Million Series C Funding in US Web Creation Platform Weebly

Weebly, an US website-building service, announced that it has secured $35 million of Series C funding from Chinese Internet giant Tencent and existing investor Sequoia Capital at a market valuation of $455 million. The funds will be used to expand into new markets and increase investment in R&D, according to the company.

Mystery new gadget revealed

Xiaomi had more to say at today’s event and revealed a product it had been teasing recently. Early photographs showed a slanting, flat device that resembled a trackpad or keyboard… but a mobile-oriented company would have little incentive to sell those sorts of items. So what’s Xiaomi got in store this time?

A router. But not just any router, a mini-router. Retailing at RMB 129 (about US $20), the company claims it’s the cheapest device of its kind on the market.

Xiaomi also announced it will be making its regular, non-mini router available for the public. That device was first rolled out last December as part of a limited beta run, wherein batches of 500 unassembled machines were shipped to lucky fans. Now the router will ship as a single pre-assembled device, which will likely please normal users who shudder at the thought of piecing together a bunch of components. It’s set to retail at RMB 699 (about US $100).

Finally, the company revealed an upgraded version of its set-top box for television. The new palm-sized slab supports 4K video and will retail for RMB 399 (about US $63).

Despite the company’s rapid expansion, it’s worth noting that these three new devices will remain very China-centric in regard to actual usage. While Xiaomi wants to prove that it can ship heaps of phones thanks to its low prices and marketing magic, once those phones are in consumers’ hands, there’s not much that makes them stand apart from its competitors. MIUI, the company’s homegrown Android ROM which powers its devices, remains more evolved in mainland China than in Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong (the three other markets where it currently operates).

<貴重な経験>

つい先日、北朝鮮の2番目とも言われる権力者が公開処刑になったばかりで、非武装地帯と言えども何かあったら怖いなぁと不安を抱きながらの参加でした。思っていた以上に参加者が多いことに驚きました。また、欧米系の方も多く、興味を持つのは万国共通だなと思いました。
脱北者の方の大変な過去の話をお聞きし、つらくなりました。板門店では、少々緊張しましたが、運よく、会談場に入ることができ、また建物内で北朝鮮に入国することができました。不思議な気持ちになりました。

"Valuable Experience"

Just the other day, this so-called second-in-line person in authority in North Korea was publicly executed. I joined the tour with an uneasiness that it would be scary if something happened though it was in a demilitarized zone. I was surprised to see there were more participants than I thought there would be. Also, there were many Westerners too, and I thought it is common to all nations when it comes to having an interest in something.
It saddened me to hear the stories from the North Korean defectors about their past hardships. I was a bit nervous in Panmunjom. But fortunately, I managed to get inside the conference room. Also, I managed to enter North Korea inside the building. It made me feel strange.

トランジットを利用して

板門店ツアーに行って来ました。
スリランカからの帰り路、朝ソウル着の日程でしたのでせっかくなので以前から行きたかった板門店に行ってきたのです。北側からは以前行って来たので、これで一応南北通じたことになります。夕方帰りの便にもぶじ間に合いロッテホテル前から出発の空港直行バスに感謝です。

前回約５年前でしたが内容が若干変っておりました。（見学コース）
ブルゴキの昼食がすばらしく美味しかった。

Using my transit time

I joined the Panmunjom tour.
On the way back from Sri Lanka, I arrived in Seoul in the morning. So I went to Panmunjom where I always wanted to visit. I went there from the North before, so the visit this time completed my North-South course. I made it to the return flight in the late afternoon. Thanks to the airport direct bus that departs from the front of the Lotte Hotel.

The last time I joined in the tour was 5 years ago. But the itinerary was slightly changed. (orientation course)
