WeChat 6.0 Introduces Video Sharing and iOS Passbook-like Digi-card Holder

WeChat just released the version 6.0 on App Store that has added video shooting & sharing, an iOS Passbook-like digi-card holder, gesture password system for payments, a redesigned game center, among others. The Android version is expected to be available to everyone later.

Alibaba will be the third-biggest internet company in the world by market cap if analysts’ estimates hold up. It will surpass both US ecommerce giant Amazon and Chinese rival Tencent.

Chinese companies take up four of the top 10 spots and make up three of the top six. Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) sits at number six, while JD (NASDAQ:JD) rounds out the top 10. Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) leads by a long shot with nearly twice the market cap as runner up Facebook (NASDAQ:FB).

China’s WeChat introduces in-store payments for Dairy Queen and 8 other chains

Tencent has introduced in-store mobile payments in WeChat, its popular mobile messaging app, for nine retail chains across China.

As Pingwest reports, Chinese WeChat users will spot a new “Small Payments” (shuaka, or “swipe card” in Chinese) feature inside the “Wallet” section of the app. Pressing the icon and entering one’s password for WeChat Payments will subsequently generate a QR Code or a barcode that retailers can scan to accept payments for in-store purchases.

Tencent and Baidu Team Up with Wanda to Challenge Dominance of Alibaba in Chinese E-commerce Industry

Wanda Group, China’s top commercial property conglomerate which is also engaged in tourism, hotels and entertainment, is teaming up with Chinese Internet giants Tencent and Baidu to set up an e-commerce joint venture by investing 5 billion yuan (around US$814 million) on aggregate. Wanda will hold a dominant 70% stake in the joint venture, while Tencent and Baidu will own 15%, respectively.

Alibaba introduces self-pickup delivery spots in Hong Kong as it flexes its logistics muscles

Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba announced today it will introduce self-pickup delivery across Hong Kong today for goods purchased on Taobao Marketplace Hong Kong, in partnership with 7-11 and Hongkong Post, the city’s government-run postal service.

Now, users based in Hong Kong who buy goods off of Taobao Marketplace can opt to pick up their items at one of over 200 designated locations. 125 of these locations belong to Hongkong Post, while 7-11 and a bevy of local logistics providers operate the remainder.

I ordered on the 31st March 2014 the above item. I was trying to track it without success. Eventually, only a few days ago I found out from the Royal Mail that my parcel has been stuck in the customs at Heathrow WORLDWIDE DC since the 21st April 2014. I tried to contact the customs but they could not help me. They informed me that the sender(you) need to contact the customs and find out what is wrong. I assume that the reason why it is stuck is the nuture of the item which is a knife. I am a professional chef and I have already ordered another knife the same date from Misono (amazon)but it successfully arrived.

2014年3月31日に上記の商品を注文いたしました。商品の追跡を行ったのですができませんでした。ようやく、数日前にRoyal Mail（ロイヤルメール）から、（私の）荷物が2014年の4月21日からヒースロー空港のWorldwide Distribution Centre（国際（便）集配センター）の税関に保管されていることを聞き出しました。税関に連絡してみましたが、どうすることもできません。送り主が税関に連絡をし、何が問題なのか［or問題点］を聞き出すことが必要だ、と税関の方から言われました。商品がナイフなので、足止めされるのは当然のことと思います。私はプロのシェフですし、（Amazonで）Misonoに同じ日にナイフを（すでに）注文しましたが、そちらはきちんと届いています。
