New concert ticketing app GigOut is up all night to get lucky

Music lovers and concert goers across Asia have a new app in the form of GigOut. Made by a Singaporean startup, GigOut’s iPhone app aggregates concert and event listings in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Hong Kong – and lets you buy tickets.

In order to sell concert tickets in those five areas, GigOut has partnered with EventClique, ApeSnap, SingTic, Tiket, PeaTix, with more partners being added in due course. The whole ticket buying process can be done within the app.

アジアにいる音楽やコンサート好き向けにGigOutという新しいアプリが誕生した。シンガポールのスタートアップが開発したGigOutのiPhone向けアプリは、シンガポール、マレーシア、インドネシア、フィリピンそして香港のコンサートやイベント情報をまとめて掲載し、チケットを購入する事もできる。

GigOutは、コンサートチケットを5つの地域で販売するため、EventClique、ApeSnap、SingTic、Tiket、PeaTixと提携しており、今後さらに提携先が追加されていく予定だ。チケットの購入手続きは全てアプリから行う事ができる。

But the new app also aims to be social, and a way for music lovers to discover events and maybe other artists they’d like. Via the app, you can tell friends which gigs you’re going to or considering. There’s also a section for music news relevant to the countries it serves.

Sarah Verry from GigOut tells us that the GigOut app will make money from advertising, as well as ticketing affiliate partnerships. The team is currently made up of six people.

GigOut’s iPhone app is free and it’s here. An Android version is in development.

There’s also rumor that Alibaba restricted access to its e-commerce marketplaces, for it is said that Alibaba wasn’t happy about the fact that Meilishuo and Mogujie grew so big and were making money on top of it. It is founded that the organic traffic on Mogujie and Meilishuo started decelerating. In June 2013, Li Yanzhu, co-founder of Mogujie left the company.

WeChat Reportedly Surpassed 600 million Users

It is reported that WeChat registered users have surpassed 600 million.

In January this year, the mobile messaging app announced 300 million milestone. Its parent company hasn’t updated the public with registration accounts since then but only disclosed the number of monthly active users in the second quarter of 2013 that is 235.8 million. It was reported that WeChat reached 400 million users at the end of April.

On the earnings conference call for Q2 2013, Tencent disclosed WeChat overseas users reached 100 million in the quarter.

Six mobile games, developed in house, have been added to WeChat since the past July. And those casual/social games are highly profitable. Tencent reported that Tian Tian Ku Pao, a Temple Run-style game, had pocketed over 100 million yuan (about $16 million) in the first month since debut. It is estimated that a large chunk is from WeChat platform.

With the payment capability that was added to WeChat 5.0, the messaging app has been experimenting with mobile-commerce; for instance, now you can order dishes with WeChat. With the latest version, you can recharge your mobile phone there.

Other monetization approaches include opening up the emoticon platform to third-parties designers so as to share future emoticon sales with them.

Although it looks nobody could beat WeChat, Chinese Internet giants still hopes to grab some shares in the mobile communication market. Alibaba Group is aggressively promoting its Laiwang internally with a wild wish of 30% of the market. EasyChat tries to differentiate from WeChat. Recently it announced 10 million registered users. Sina injected funding in WeMeet, a similar app headed by former Sina Weibo lead. Shanda also developed one named Youni.

DISC IS LOOSE INSIDE CASE

There are what seems to be some small remnants of a price sticker or something like that on the front.
There are surface scratches, a very small dent, and a few indents on the plastic
The disc is loose inside of the case, HOWEVER it does not rattle as much as discs usually do due to the thickness of the manual. So even though discs usually have no damage from being loose, this most definitely has very little to absolutely no damage to the disc.
The wrap on the spine is slightly peeling and very slightly loose as shown in picture 4. It is loose due to me, I accidentally was too rough with it. You actually have to peel the wrap back to see it tear.

The device and app is ready for orders but would not be shipped till the end of November. Although Beluvv didn’t reveal the number of order estimates, nevertheless it is expecting to sell at least 16 million pieces at its initial launch. With each device priced at $29.95 each, the project is self-funded.

The startup has also taken a social stance right at the beginning and has created a programme called Give One Love that aims to stamp out the problems of missing children. Beluvv would give one free Guardian device to families in need whenever someone makes a double purchase of the device.

With the product pricing and the estimated sales numbers, it is no wonder why the Beluvv Team has no need for a funding yet. However, will the project be able to take on subsequent stages of startup fundings?

The product seems to be riding on trends such as the matured Bluetooth technology and also wearable devices. Over the past year, we have seen products such as Samsung Smart watch, Fitbit, Google Glass, Nike FuelBand, Jawbone Up hit the markets. Other great child and pet tracking products such as Filip, Tagg, Whistle, Tile are also currently in the market already.

With wearable technology revenue due to hit $18 billion by the end of 2018, people would definitely be hitting up some wearable tech gear soon. While we think that the product is great and we are excited for its launch, what we are more excited about is the potential growth of the product, and its possible entrance into larger markets such as China. One thing is for sure, we will definitely be on the look out for that.
