I shopped for the first time at this site on May 18.
It said that it will arrive in Japan for 3-7 business days, but it has not been shipped yet as far as I looked at the delivery status of the items I purchased.
I am really worrying whether it will arrive here in about 7 days.
When will it be shipped? I am not a good English speaker, so it would be very kind if you reply me by Email.

It was given as a gift to limited guests on Mitsui family's celebratory occasions.
It seems to be crafted about 30 years ago.
This was distributed privately and internally, so the production volume was not big, which means that you can scarcely find it put on the market.

It looks to be preserved with caution, and looks not to be used actually.
It has only a very slight scrape, which you might not notice, and no thum stains or water stain.

Best as a memorial for those who are working for Mitsui companies, whose family name is Mitsui with family emblem same as Mitsui's Yotsumeyui, or any others whose emblem is Yotsumeyui.

Sina Weibo Breaks 300 Million Registered Users, Mobile Users Growing

Today, Sina published some new statistics about its microblogging service, Sina Weibo. Turns out, the inevitable has happened: the service has broken 300 million users. Yes, we all knew that announcement was coming, and here’s something else you knew was coming: most of weibo’s active users are now also mobile users.

今日、Sina は同社のミニブログサービスである Sina Weibo について新しい統計データを公表した。予期されていたことが現実のものになったことが分かったのだ。同サービスは、ユーザ数が3億人を突破した。そう、我々はこの発表がいつか来ると分かっていた。そして予期していなかったニュースもある。weibo の多くのアクティブユーザは、携帯ユーザでもあるのだ。

Of course, what Sina’s release cleverly doesn’t say is how many of those 300 million users are “active users.” Nor does it define what it means by “active” — users who go on weibo once a day? week? month? — which is a bit shady. I have to assume that if Sina’s active user numbers were good enough it would be sharing them, so probably the fact that those numbers are conspicuously absent is an indication that active users are a pretty low percentage of that 300 million (or that Sina is counting its “active” users too generously to share the details for fear of criticism).

もちろん、Sina のリリースは賢明にも、3億人のうち一体どれだけが「アクティブ」なのかは言及していない。さらに「アクティブ」の意味するところを定義していないので、1日1回以上の weibo へのアクセスなのか、それとも週なのか月なのか、そうした点ははっきりしない。Sina のアクティブユーザ数が良好な数字であれば言及されているだろうと推測せざるをえないので、この数字が露骨に隠されているという事実は、おそらく3億人に占めるアクティブユーザ数の比率が非常に低いことの表れではないか（或いは Sina は「アクティブ」ユーザを多めにカウントし過ぎていて、批判を恐れて詳細を公開できないのか）。

It’s also worth noting that Sina’s graph shows it breaking the 300 million user mark in February, before all this real-name stuff really went into effect. So far, Sina hasn’t shared any data on how that has affected user numbers, if at all. Anyway, here are some charts (English by me, charts by Sina):

And now today, search giant Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) announced that it too is launching its own low-cost handset, the Changhong H5018, which is manufactured by Foxconn and will be soon be available across the country in cooperation with China Unicom. The phone will be priced at under 1000 RMB (which converts to about $158).

Perhaps what’s most remarkable about this offering, is that Baidu is promising ‘personalized smart Cloud services’ as well, which will include a whopping 100 gigabytes of free personal storage via Baidu Netdrive. The phone has a 3.5-inch display, and is powered by Baidu’s Cloud Smart Terminal platform which uses Baidu’s many cloud-based applications. The company’s VP of engineering Jing Wang noted in the announcement:

The Baidu Cloud Smart terminal platform is a crucial step in Baidu’s overall Cloud strategy in the mobile Internet sphere. It is not only meant to create a high quality, smart mobile experience for users, but also, more importantly, it will significantly lower manufacturing costs for many mobile manufacturers and cooperating partners.

A representative elaborated on this last point, saying that with more apps in the cloud, handset makers don’t need to sink as much money into processing power and/or memory.

As you might expect, Baidu wants to make search easy for users, and (as we mentioned last week when we first got wind of this phone) the H5018 will take voice and handwritten input as well as regular search. Initially I thought that this might use Changhong’s own voice recognition tech for TVs which we wrote about a few months back [1]. But Baidu tells us that the voice recognition technology on this handset is indeed its own.

We don’t know too much about the hardware specs, but we’re hoping we can get a first hand look at this one sometime soon to give it a test run.

It’s certainly good to see more and more low-cost smartphone offerings for consumers, especially ones with the brand recognition of Baidu.

A Bubble in the Startup World?

Is there a bubble in the startup industry? It looks like it. At least that’s according to a discussion panel at GMIC, which included Robin Chan (founder and CEO at Time Machine Ventures), Bao Fan (founder and CEO, China Renaissance) and Huoy – Ming Yeh, (managing director of Silicon Valley Bank China).

ベンチャーの業界にバブルは存在するか？ どうやら答えはイエスだ、少なくとも GMIC のパネルディスカッションによれば。パネラーには、Robin Chan （Time Machine Ventures の創業者兼CEO）、Bao Fan （China Renaissance の創業者兼CEO）、Huoy – Ming Yeh （Silicon Valley Bank China の経営責任者）が含まれる。

It’s the same familiar points, but worth noting. Stupid money is being invested in companies, with no revenue at most times. But few acquisitions are happening in China and Asia. Most investors can’t find the 50x returns they are looking for. And because there’s an excess of capital, more folks are coming out to build startups, raise money, and hoping to be the next Facebook, Google, or Instagram. But you see the disconnection. There’s a lot of money and startups, but very few exits in Asia. That’s how I interpret it.

そこには共通点があるが、何も間違っていない。売上をほとんど上げていない企業に愚かな資金が投資されている。しかし中国やアジアにおける買収はほとんどない。大半の投資家は、彼らが求める50倍のリターンを見つけられないでいる。また、資金の余剰が発生しているため、大勢が企業から出てベンチャーを立ち上げ、資金を募り、次の Facebook や Google、Instagram になろうとしている。しかし、そこに断絶があることに気づくだろう。多くの資金とベンチャーがあるが、アジアではほとんどエグジットがないのだ。こう私は解釈している。

That said, Bao Fan pointed out that it is a natural cycle of the mobile and internet industry. The next bubble burst and dry spell would test the companies’ true strength. It is good in that sense as the industry somehow needs that. Those who survive are likely to do well. Robin Chan specifically pointed that the gaming looks to be on the downside. He didn’t explain why, but his comment does bring some weight as he previously founded XPD which was acquired by Zynga, which eventually became Zynga China. Chan has also angel invested in Twitter, Square, and Foursquare.

‘The Sexiest’ Chinese Magazine Goes Mobile

Walking around the GMIC exhibition area, it is hard not to look at booths that have very “attractive” posters. One of the booths claims to be the first sort of sexy model magazine built on the iOS and Android platform. Many guys were enjoying the view from a distance so I thought it would be nice to step forward to learn what it was all about.

GMIC の展示エリアを歩いていて、非常に「魅力的」なポスターを掲出するブースに目を向けないようにするのは難しい。あるブースでは、iOs と Android プラットフォーム上に構築された最初のセクシーモデル雑誌だと主張していた。多くの男性が遠くからの眺めを楽しんでいたので、詳しく聞くために一歩近づいてみるのは良いことだろうと思った。

So “The Sexiest” (yes, that’s the name) is a mobile magazine that features models in sexy photoshoots. The company behind Sexiest Magazine is actually International Culture Media (that’s a direct translation), a traditional print media company in China. The move to the digital platform is new for the company. In fact, The Sexiest is its first magazine presented on mobile. A representative at the booth tells me that the app was launched eight months ago and so far has more than 300,000 downloads, which is not too bad for a first attempt. 「The Sexiest」（そう、これが雑誌名だ）は、携帯で読む雑誌で、モデルたちのセクシーな写真を取り上げます。Sexiest Magazine の背後にいる企業は実は International Culture Media（直訳の英語名）で、中国の伝統的な紙のメディア企業だ。デジタルプラットフォームへの移行は、同社にとっては新しい取り組みだ。実際、The Sexiest は同社の初のモバイル雑誌だ。ブースにいた代表者が私に語ったところでは、アプリは8か月前にローンチ、現在まで30万ダウンロード以上を記録しているらしく、初めての試みとしては悪くないだろう。チェックしたい場合は、こちら（iTunes リンク）ダウンロードできる。

So why is this interesting? Well because content is rapidly shifting to the mobile platform in China. As more mobile users (phone and tablet) increase in China, media companies, even the diehard traditional ones, have to have a mobile strategy to keep up with the trend as content consumption habits change. The bridge to that content will also play a huge role, such as with the wide range of reading application available. It’s not just Flipboard here in China but we are also seeing many other reading applications mushrooming (and being cloned) in the middle kingdom too.

それでなぜこれが興味深いのか？ つまり、中国でコンテンツが急速にモバイル環境へシフトしているからだ。中国では携帯利用者（電話及びタブレット）の伸びが拡大しており、コンテンツの消費習慣が変化してきているため、メディア企業は、頑固な伝統的な企業でさえ、トレンドにキャッチアップするためにはモバイル戦略が必須なのだ。モバイルで本が読めるアプリが各種あるなど、コンテンツへのかけ橋も大きな役割を果たすだろう。中国で、既に Flipboard が上陸しているだけでなく、読書アプリやそのコピーが急速な勢いで拡大しているのを目の当たりにしている。

On a related note, Flipboard’s CEO Mike McCue was actually on stage this morning stating that his team is “very committed to China.” I’m reminded me that social reading applications have had a history of getting blocked in China. But it should do just fine with Sina Weibo and Renren integration – but, regrettably, no Facebook.

関連情報だが、Flipboard の CEO である Mike McCue は今朝、檀上で彼のチームは「非常に中国に注力している」と述べている。中国でソーシャル読書アプリがいくつもブロックされてきた歴史を思い出した。しかし、Sina Weibo と Renren の統合チームなら問題ないだろう。残念ながら Facebook は別だ。

Executives Leaving China’s Group Buy Industry

It’s no secret that group buy is more or less in shambles in China for everyone but a few of the top players. But it seems even some of those top players aren’t immune to the industry’s problems, as analysts have pointed out what seems to be a sort of exodus of high-level management from Chinese group buy companies.
