With the launch of an API and KirimanKu, end-to-end delivery and logistics solution provider, Kirim, is set to boost e-commerce in the logistics space

Jakarta (Indonesia) based, end-to-end delivery and logistics solution provider, Kirim,has done a soft launch of its API, enabling e-commerce players to rate, find shipping costs, track shipments, arrange pick-ups and in the end generate waybills.

APIとKirimanKuのローンチに伴い、エンドトゥーエンド配送、物流を手掛けるのKirimがeコマースの利用を物流スペースで開始した。

ジャカルタ（インドネシア）をベースにしたエンドトゥーエンド配送、物流を手掛けるのKirimはAPIの開始に伴い、eコマースユーザからのレーティング、配送費用の検索、配送状況の追跡、受け取りの調整、さらには貨物運送状の作成までが可能だ。

It is also all set to launch KirimanKu, an online platform for customers, in November, that will allow customers to manage their shipping activities online, monitor and trace shipment status, acknowledge billings; and craft daily, weekly and monthly shipment reports on a customized basis.

Kirim, that was relaunched last year with a new brand name, was operating with the umbrella name – Pt Diamonds Inti Corpora, till then. Currently, Kirim is focused on providing service in Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.

But how does Kirim fare with heavyweights like DHL, UPS, TNT and JNE in the market? Saraswati sees them not as competition but as enablers in category growth. “We collaborate with them by using their network to deliver our domestic shipment.”

Kirim, currently, has a team of 40 employees – 25 of them are couriers. The company claims that it serves 6,495 sub-districts in 500 cities throughout Indonesia and more than 220 countries worldwide. Commenting on the need to scale up, she says “We are planning to open other hubs and counters in Jakarta. Considering the demand, we consider to set-up branches in major cities across Indonesia."

Kirimは現在40人の従業員がおり、そのうちの25人は配達担当者だ。インドネシア国内では500都市さらに海外では220を超える都市、合わせて6,495の小区域にサービスを提供いる。事業拡大に対して同氏は「弊社はジャカルタ内の他のハブや窓口を開拓する計画を立てています。需要性に応じて、インドネシア内の主要都市に支店を建設していきたい。」とコメントした。

Tencent Has Invested $2 bn in Overseas Markets. Here’s the Full List.

Tencent has invested $2 billion in overseas markets, a large part of which went to startups, disclosed Martin Lau, president of Tencent, at GMIC 2013 Sillicon Valley. Not only does Tencent inject money into those startups, the company would also pass on experience or help them enter China market, he said.

Online gaming has been the major contributor to its total revenues and Tencent counts on mobile gaming in order to monetize the huge user base it has already had through WeChat, Mobile QQ and other mobile apps. So most of foreign businesses Tencent has stakes in are gaming-related.

Tencentが海外マーケットで$US20億投資

Tencentの社長であるMartin Lau 氏はシリコンバレーで行われたGMIC2013 でTencentが海外マーケットで$20億の投資し、そのほとんどがスタートアップへの投資だと発表した。さらにTencentはスタートアップへの金銭面の投資だけではなく、中国マーケット進出の為に、過去の経験談の伝達や支援も行うという。

オンラインゲームを主な収益とするTencentだが、WeChat、Mobile QQさらにその他のモバイルアプリで獲得した大規模なユーザベースを収益化する為に、同社はモバイルゲームに期待を寄せている。海外ビジネスでTencentが保持している株式はゲーム関係が多い。

Below is a list of overseas investments we have heard about since the company started making investments in other companies, big or small — Years back Chinese Internet companies preferred to develop me-too products by themselves. Tencent was famous for that it could always kill the existing ones with better-than-copy versions.

Chunyuyisheng, Mobile Health App, Released 4.0 Version

Chunyuyisheng, a mobile health app, unveiled 4.0 version which integrates the previous inquiry and disease searching functions into a searching engine (report in Chinese).

The searching results include information of different diseases, nearby doctors, therapeutic methods, and Q&A.

Since lots of patients ask similar questions, Chunyuyisheng established a searching engine with new algorithm and rich data, helping users to diagnose their symptoms based on previous questions. For example, the service will list 51 similar questions according to their relevance degree defined in terms of gender, age, and inquiry content.

モバイル版健康アプリ　春雨医生の4.0がリリースされた。本アプリの検索エンジンには過去の問い合わせや病気検索機能が搭載されている。（中国語表記）

検索結果には異なる病状、近所の医師、治療方法やQ&Aの情報が含まれる。

たくさんの患者から似たような質問を受けたことで、春雨医生は新アルゴリズムや豊富なデータを駆使して検索エンジンを構築した。これによって、過去の質問に基づいて、患者の症状の診断の手助けができるという。性別や年齢、問い合わせた質問に応じて似たような51の質問を一覧化するサービスなどが提供される。

The company claimed that its service will beat Baidu in healthcare sector. Because all its searching results come from doctors and there is no advertisement or promotion contents on the platform, while Baidu just lists the links related to specific keywords and ads usually haunt the users.

In addition, the company planned to launch vertical channels in the field of parenting and maternal care. With 14 million registered users and over 8,000 doctors, Chunyuyisheng recorded around 20,000 new questions per day, according to data released by the company.

運営会社は春雨医生のサービスはバイドゥの健康セクターにも匹敵すると述べている。理由として、検索結果は全て医師からのものであり、プラットフォームには広告の類は表示されない。一方バイドゥは特定のキーワードに関連するリンクを一覧し、広告がユーザ頻繁に表示される。

さらに、運営会社は子育てや妊婦管理にも分野を広げる予定だ。春雨医生は現在、約14万人のユーザと8000人以上の医師が登録されており、1日2万件ほどの新規質問が寄せられている。

No lost kids any more; Beluvv creates Guardian to keep a track of kids

Despite parents trying to be as vigilant as they can, about 8 million children get lost every year. Guardian, a device created by Beluvv hopes to tackle the problem

Nearly 8 million children get lost every year. The shocking statistic inspired Taiwanese startup, Beluvv, to create Guardian, a small wearable device that is able to track a child’s movements. Most notably, the device is paired up with a smartphone app using Bluetooth and utilizes the network of users to help each other find a child when the child goes out of the parent’s pre-set radar.

年間約800万人の子供が行方不明になっている。この事実を受け台湾人のベリョフ氏がGuardianと呼ばれる着脱式の小さなデバイスを開発した。これで子供の動きを追跡できるという。このデバイスはBluetoothでスマートフォンと接続可能で、前もって設定したレーダーから子供が離れた場合、ネットワークを使ってお互いを探索できる。

For example, when another child that is wearing the Guardian device comes into my Bluetooth radar, Guardian’s cloud server would activate a global search immediately. When the lost child comes into my Bluetooth radar, not only would I get notified, the parent of the lost child would also get notified of my location. This makes everyone almost like a Guardian angel.

Using the Bluetooth energy (BLE) technology, this device also has the advantage of being smaller, lighter and consumes much less power than GPS devices.

Guardianを身に付けた子供がBluetoothレーダーに侵入した場合、Bluetoothのクラウドサーバーが作動し、即座に広範囲の検索を行う。行方不明の子供が使用者のBluetoothレーダーに入った場合は、使用者に通知されるだけではなく、行方不明の子供の親にも使用者の居場所が通知される。これによって、使用者がGuardian Angelのようになれる。

Bluetooth energy （BLE）テクノロジーを使用することで、コンパクト化、軽量化を実現でき、GPSデバイスを使用するより、充電消費量を抑えることができる。

The device and app is ready for orders but would not be shipped till the end of November. Although Beluvv didn’t reveal the number of order estimates, nevertheless it is expecting to sell at least 16 million pieces at its initial launch. With each device priced at $29.95 each, the project is self-funded.

The startup has also taken a social stance right at the beginning and has created a programme called Give One Love that aims to stamp out the problems of missing children. Beluvv would give one free Guardian device to families in need whenever someone makes a double purchase of the device.

本デバイスとアプリは注文できる段階まで来ているが、11月末まで出荷は難しい。Beluvv社は想予定出荷台数を公開していないが、先行販売で最低でも1600万台の販売が予想される。デバイス単価はUS$29.95。プロジェクトは自己投資である。

Startupは当初から社会的立場をとっており、Give One Loveという行方不明の子供問題をなくすことも目的としたプログラムを作成していた。Beluvv社は消費者が二重購入をした場合、Guardianを必要とする家族に無償提供をする予定だ。

With the product pricing and the estimated sales numbers, it is no wonder why the Beluvv Team has no need for a funding yet. However, will the project be able to take on subsequent stages of startup fundings?

The product seems to be riding on trends such as the matured Bluetooth technology and also wearable devices. Over the past year, we have seen products such as Samsung Smart watch, Fitbit, Google Glass, Nike FuelBand, Jawbone Up hit the markets. Other great child and pet tracking products such as Filip, Tagg, Whistle, Tile are also currently in the market already.

製品価格と想定販売数をみると、Beluvvチームが投資を必要としない理由は明らかであるが、プロジェクトが後続の立ち上げ資金を獲得できるかは疑問が残る。

本プロジェクトは発達したBluetoothテクノロジーや着脱式デバイスなどの流行に便乗しているとも思われる。われわれは、ここ数年市場に出ているSamsung Smart watch、Fitbit、Google Glass、Nike FuelBandやJawbone Upなどの製品を目にしてきている。また、Filip、TaggおよびWhistle, Tileなどの子供やペット探索用の類似製品もすでに市場を出回っている。

With wearable technology revenue due to hit $18 billion by the end of 2018, people would definitely be hitting up some wearable tech gear soon. While we think that the product is great and we are excited for its launch, what we are more excited about is the potential growth of the product, and its possible entrance into larger markets such as China. One thing is for sure, we will definitely be on the look out for that.

Instant messenger Cubie gets grounded on the desktop

Taiwan-based Cubie, an instant messenger app, is now available on Chrome browsers. It first emerged as a side project of the company’s CTO

Chrome users, rejoice! Taiwan-based mobile messenger app Cubie is now available on the Chrome Web Store as a free extension, Cubie Lite.

Launched this morning, the desktop client wasn’t exactly planned. James Hill, International Messenger (who heads business development), Cubie, told e27 that their chief technology officer (CTO), Ingram Chen, had decided to play around with the Dart programming language and build such an extension as a side project.
