Before the 1990s, the energy consumption in a city area was about 40% of the one in rural area. The sharpest razer amoung Tamahagane kamisori is "Suzuki" brand.
However "Tanaka"and "Sato" is older brand than "Suzuki" and both are really sharp but I'd say "Sato" is slightly sharper than "Tanaka"

I would like to buy a tamahagane kamisori, sharped as per used to shave again, but I'm not sure wich ones would be better and durable. I have been checking this nagamasa and some teramasa, and I would like to spend no more uf USD 500 (honing included). Could you recommend me two or three of your kamisori that would fit to my needs?Another question. Do you have historical references about teramasa and nagamasa blacksmitting?

Every Inoue Tousuke razor I like. There is big difference between older razor and new one like this one. I feel my older one has more carbon content than this newer one. Doesn't matter very much unless collector, but for me just shaving. Very good razor.

I have quite a lot of experience working with Japanese natural stones. I have purchased few from various reputable vendors over last few year. And I learnt honing quite a lot in last years.Yellow stone which I purchased from you is a beautiful one and I hoped it will work great. I read carefully information about the stone and studied photographs to make sure it matches my need. The stone has been rated by you as “A very clean and beautiful grinding surface, so no problem for sharpening.” When I started using this stone, unfortunately I encountered one problem. The stone must contain scattered, small particles which are very hard.

While rubbing the stone (with good quality tomonagura) to get turbid water on it (slurry), some of these particles also are released to water.
When honing, they scratch the blade. I made several tries (cleaning stone, rubbing the stone again with tomonagura) but it did not help. So the stone itself is very beautiful and is very fine for honing but because of scratchy particles, it is not good enough for razor or kamisori. Maybe it is good for tools or knives.If it would be just one or two places which scratch the blade, it would not be a big problem, because bad spots can be repaired (spots with hard particles can be removed).

濁った水を得る為にスラリーの上にてこちらの石を擦った（良質なTomonaguraにて）際に、いくつかの石の粒が水の中へ剥がれ落ちてしまいました。

Before the war, Japanese household energy was mainly relying on firewood, and the usage ratio of firewood until the 1920s was over 80%. The increase of electricity usage was remarkable from the 1910s to the 1920s, then in the 1930s the alternative charcoal has increased. The Energy consumption in urban area has smoothly increased in the 1990s and the energy resource also became diversified. Compared to rural area, the usage ration of charcoal is high which was consumed as much as firewood.

We had a one-day special event in which the YTG instructors worked at a reduced rate to teach as many people as possible as many Theatre techniques as possible. AW taught “Acting with Intention”, GR taught Voice, TC taught Corporeal Mime, and AU taught Stage Combat. There was a mix of students in terms of native language. We had about 30% native Japanese speakers and 70% native English speakers.

We ran a two-day intensive voice workshop for students in Tokyo. Over the period of 10 hours (5 hours each day), instructor GR covered many of the topics we normally cover over the course of six weeks. It was a lot for the students to absorb, but running it over a single weekend allowed us to reach more casual students.

Andrew Woolner went to Osaka and taught 2 days of “Acting with Intention”, a compressed version of his regular acting class.
The venue was kind of expensive, so we could only afford to send one instructor.

In the fall semester, we ran Acting, Voice, Movement, and Stage Combat classes. Because of trouble finding a room in Yokohama, we ran the classes in Sagamihara at SAGAMIHAUS.

The YTG ensemble presented their 1st fully mounted show under the direction of guest director Thijs van Elten from Holland. THE HOUSE SHOW was a site-specific piece performed in a Tokyo living room. The show was presented in a mix of English and Japanese. The Japanese actors spoke Japanese and the English-speaking actor spoke English.

Andrew Woolnerは大阪へ行き2日間通常の演技クラスの圧縮版”Acting with Intention”を教えた。開催地はやや高くついた為、我々は1人のインストラクターしか手配することができなかった。

秋学期には、演技、発声、動き、そして殺陣のクラスを行った。横浜で、利用可能な空き部屋を探すのに苦戦した為、我々は相模原にあるサガミハウスにてクラスを開催した。

YTGアンサンブルは、オランダからのゲスト監督Thijs Van Eltenの監督の下、彼ら初となる全編ショーを行った。ハウス・ショーは、東京リビングルームに演じられたサイトスペシフィック・ピースであった。ショー自体は、英語と日本語の混合で行われた。日本人俳優/女優は日本語を話し、英語圏の俳優/女優は英語を話しました。

YTG had a busy year in 2012/2013. We started a new program, taking our workshops to Kansai, and beginning rehearsals for the following seasons’ kids’ production of Beowulf.

Macbeth tour from Cambridge University
The annual Cambridge University Japan Tour brought the Pembroke Players back to Yokohama for their 4th annual show. Every year, Camrbridge University, with the financial support of Seikei University, sends a new group of actors to perform a Shakespeare show across Japan. YTG has the job of producing their public shows in Yokohama. We also organized a workshop and performance at Yokohama International School and arranged for the Cambridge students to participate in the Kanto Plains Drama Festival

2012年から2013年はYTGにとって多忙な時期でありました。我々は、ワークショップを関西へ持って行き、次期のに開催される子供たちのベーオウルフ作品の為にリハーサルを始めたりと新たなプログラムを始めました。

ケンブリッジ大学からのマックベス・ツアー
ケンブリッジ大学、日本ツアーではペンブルックプレイヤーズを横浜で開催される４年目のショーへ再び招きました。成蹊大学のスポンサーの下、ケンブリッジ大学は日本全土でのシェークスピア公演の為に毎年新たな劇団をお送りしております。YTGは、横浜で開催される一般公開ショーの作成を仕事としております。また、横浜国際学校で開かれるワークショップとパフォーマンスの準備を行い、ケンブリッジの学生が関東平野ドラマへ参加できるよう手配も致しました。
