以下の理由で当該商品の金型流用は基本的行わない事にしていた旨を彼女に説明しております。
１：Dの量産工場はICTIの承認工場ではない。
*弊社ポリシーで量産工場はICTIの認可工場でばければならないと決められております。
２：1の理由からもし型を流用して新商品の生産を行う場合には金型をICTI認可別工場に移管する必要がある。

I spoke with Ms. S about the idea to re-use the mold of A company's existing product D for the planned new product M.
I explained to her the gist of the following reason that the said product's mold basically cannot be re-used.
1: The mass production plant for D isn't recognized by ICTI.
*It's been decided through company policy that the mass production plant must change radically to be an ICTI recognized plant.
2: Because of the reason in 1, in the case of the production of a new product which uses the mold, the mold will need to be transferred to a separate plant recognized by ICTI.

With respect to the idea to diverting the mold of the existing product D to that of the new product of M plan, I have talked with Ms. S.
I have explained to her that basically, we have not diverted the mold of the product because of the following reasons.
1: The mass production factory of D is not ICTI certified factory.
Our policy regulates that the mass production factory for our product must be ICTI certified.
2: Because of the reason 1, if the mold is diverted for the production of the new product, the mold must be transferred to another factory which is ICTI certified.

3. The mass-production vendor is N company, which is the external associated company of our Tokyo headquarters. Thus, it is likely to take too much time and effort and be not efficient, because it requires arranging the schedules of the mass production for the Japanese market and that for new product, negotiation / operation for transferring the mold, and paperwork for the transferring the mold.
4. In the first place, the cost for the existing product is higher than we have expected.
If the specification of the new product is similar to D, it would be better that our company invest in and newly develop the product with TH company because it takes absolutely shorter time and reasonable cost.
