A社の既存商品Dの金型をM企画の新製品に流用するアイデアの件に関しSさんと話ました。
以下の理由で当該商品の金型流用は基本的行わない事にしていた旨を彼女に説明しております。
1:Dの量産工場はICTIの承認工場ではない。
*弊社ポリシーで量産工場はICTIの認可工場でばければならないと決められております。
2:1の理由からもし型を流用して新商品の生産を行う場合には金型をICTI認可別工場に移管する必要がある。
I spoke with Ms. S about the idea to re-use the mold of A company's existing product D for the planned new product M.
I explained to her the gist of the following reason that the said product's mold basically cannot be re-used.
1: The mass production plant for D isn't recognized by ICTI.
*It's been decided through company policy that the mass production plant must change radically to be an ICTI recognized plant.
2: Because of the reason in 1, in the case of the production of a new product which uses the mold, the mold will need to be transferred to a separate plant recognized by ICTI.
3:現量産ベンダーは東京本社の外部協力会社のN社である。故に日本市場向け製品との量産日程調整や金型異動交渉/作業や金型移動書類手続きに多くの手間がかかり過ぎ効率的に事が進まない可能性高い。
4:そもそも現製品のコストは弊社の想定より高い。
Dと似た仕様であれば、弊社で投資をかけて新たにTH社と開発した方が絶対に早く適切なコストの商品が出来る筈です。

3: The current mass production vendor is N company, an external contract manufacturer of the Tokyo head office. Therefore, it takes a lot of time for the co-ordination of the schedule of mass production of products aimed at the Japanese market, the discussions/operations for the transfer of the mold, and the procedure for the mold transfer documents, and there is a high possibility that it will not proceed efficiently.
4. From the start, the cost of the current product is higher than our company supposed.
If there is a specification that resembles D, our company should be able to make an investment in a new method of development with TH company and make the product at an appropriate cost as soon as possible.
