元大関の霧島（現・陸奥親方）のお店として有名で、霧島はその甘いマスクと筋肉美から女性に大人気でした。その姿は和製ヘラクレスとも言われたほどです。
そんな霧島プロデュースのちゃんこ店では、鶏がらで十分にダシをとった白味噌仕立てのさっぱりスープが自慢で、老若男女問わず厚い支持を受けています。
本場所が始まると、全国各地より遥々足を運ぶ人もおり店内は常に賑わいます。

街中には自転車を漕ぐ力士や力士の銅像、ちゃんこ霧島に入ればボリューミーな本格ちゃんこに霧島現役当時の写真や記念品などが飾られていたりと、正に相撲の街といった楽しみ方ができます。
変わり種の人気メニューには相撲コロッケという、呆れるほど大きなジャンボコロッケがあります。
