東京、桜満開
日本人にとって、この桜の季節は特別な感情があります。
桜の時期は短く、花が一気に満開になって散るまでたった1週間ほどです。そして日本では、会社や学校は4月が始まりなので、それにあわせて新しい生活を始める人が多いのです。学校の入学式や会社で働き始めたことなど、人生の節目節目を日本人は桜に、思いを重ね合わせます。
そして、1週間ほどで、潔く、花びらが雪の様に散ります。

Tokyo- Fully bloomed cherry blossoms
For Japanese people this sakura season brings this special feeling.
The sakura period is short, which is only for a week or so from the time the blossoms fully blooms till they fall. And since school and office year starts in April here in Japan so many people start their new life along with this season.Japanese people reflect their thoughts about their events such as a school entrance ceremony and the start of one's office work, etc. along with their milestones of their life.
And after a week or so, the petals fall like a snowfall innocently.

This email magazine tells my daily life here in Tokyo along with the jewellery we make.

Tokyo, full bloom of cherry now.
For Japanese , this cherry blossom season is very special occasion with emotion.

It lasts only a whole week from the beginning of flower blooms to an end to go away. It is very short period.
And in Japan, school or office begins its season in April therefore there is a lot of people starting their new life during the season. The entering ceremony for schools or office are concentrated this timing so that Japanese are tending to be overlapping the life and cherry floors every time of this season.
And one week time later, the cherry petals are going to be disappeared just like the snow bravely.

満開の桜も素敵ですが、散り際の美しさは見事です。短い花の命は、日本の「わび」「さび」という、はかない命の一瞬が最も美しいという美的感覚につながっているように感じています。そういうちょっとした美的感覚を、ジュエリーにも反映させたいといつも考えています。

ショップの近所にも、たくさんの桜の名所があります。

東宝は数々の日本映画を生み出してきた撮影所。その中に流れる川のほとりで夜の桜のライトアップをします。夜の桜は、幻想的で美しいですよ。

私たちも桜のジュエリーをつくっています。

Fully bloomed sakura is one, but their beauty upon falling is magnificent. The short life of flower appears to be linked to the sense of beauty deriving from the Japanese notion of "wabi" and "sabi" which admires the moment of the short life is the most beautiful. I always feel like reflecting such subtle sense of beauty into our jewelries, too.

There are lots of good spot for cherry blossoms near the shop, too.

Toho is known as a famous movie studio from where a countless number of Japanese movies were created. At the river runs nearby, cherry blossoms are lit up in at night. Sakura at night is beautiful like an illusion.

We are also creating sakura jewelries now.

Of course the full blossoms are wonderful, however, when watching they are falling, it is splendid. A short life of blossoms seems to be related with beauty of a short of life, "Wabi" and "Sabi". I am thinking of reflecting this sense of feeling on the jewelry.

The short periods of going cherry is representing the Japanese wabi and Sabi,or all in full bloom are going to fade and be fallen down. 桜の花の様子を、和彫りという日本の伝統的な彫の技術で彫り上げています。日本の彫の特徴は、自然の一部分を切り出してくること。葉っぱの途中、花びらの一部を彫って、残りの見えない部分は、頭の中で創造してみようという考え方です。彫はTaganeとKozuchiという日本の伝統的な道具を使って、一点一点手で彫っていきます。
この季節に東京に来ることがあったら、桜の花を見るついでに、私たちのお店にも寄ってみてください。

Cherry blossoms are carved with a Japanese traditional technique, called Wabori. Japanese carving specific is cut natural part. By carving a half way of a lief and part of a petal and rest of which being not seen, is to be imagined in your mind. The carving needs a Japanese traditional tool called Tagane and Kozuchi, and curved one by one. We have been curving cherry blossom with using techniques called Wabori, the traditional Japanese way of wood curving. The character of Wabori is to cutting part of nature of Japan. This is idea of curving the middle of leaves, a part of petals and left hidden part should be imagined in your mind. The curving is made of using the Japanese traditional tool called Tagane and Kozuchi and handicrafted for one by one.
