Usually, one would be shouing out [Oni go out!] while throwing soya beans at one's entrance hall or to an open window, and quickly shutting the door or the window so that the Oni would not be able to come back in while saying [Fortune come in] and scatter soya beans inside the house.

Also, in each event, there would be staff acting as the oni, and there are also events whereby people start throwing soya beans at the one acting as the oni.

Especially Shizuoka Prefecture's Atami city, whereby you can reach in an hour from tokyo on train, whereby they are holding a big fireworks festival as big as the one in summer. This year they would be held over 3 days namely 7 December (Sunday), 14 December (Sunday) and 23 December (Tuesday/Public Holiday)

And the famous hot springs that monkeys enjoys is Yaenkoen (Wild Monkey Park) of Jigokudani (Hell's Valley) at Nagano Prefecture. Fukubukuro is whereby many products are packed into a bag that you are unable to see and being sold as it is and that the price of the items inside are very much higher than what you would buy individually. 仏教寺院で、12月31日の夜に行われる行事。お寺に存在する大きな鐘を108回突くのが一般的。 108回という回数にポイントがあり、人の心に存在する「ボンノウ」の種類の数が基本と言われている。（ボンノウとは身心を乱し悩ませる心の働き（汚れ）を総称して言う。）

At the buddhist temple, there is a ceremony that is held on 31 December at night. It is a normal to strike the big bell at the temple for 108 times. There is a reason behind striking 108 times, which is based on the types of "Bonnou" laying inside of the human's heart. (Bonnou is the categorical name for the things that works by causing trouble and disrupts and contaminates your body and heart.)

In Japan, while listening to the sound in the temple, and praying in the main hall of the temple, it will complete for the whole years worth of it. And according to each temple, one could even strike the bell on new year's eve.
