通常は、家の玄関や窓を開けて「鬼は外！」と言いながら大豆を撒き、鬼が戻らないようすぐに戸や窓を閉めてから、「福は内！」と部屋の中にも撒きます。
また、イベントによっては、鬼役のスタッフを用意し、その鬼に向かって実際に大豆を投げつけるというものもあります。
2月3日に日本に来た際には、是非体験してみてくださいね。

Usually, one would be shouing out [Oni go out!] while throwing soya beans at one's entrance hall or to an open window, and quickly shutting the door or the window so that the Oni would not be able to come back in while saying [Fortune come in] and scatter soya beans inside the house.
Also, in each event, there would be staff acting as the oni, and there are also events whereby people start throwing soya beans at the one acting as the oni.
If you were to come to Japan on 3rd February, please do kindly experience this.
