Karuta is a card game played indoors, usually during the New Year’s days. The etymology is Carta, Portuguese word for “letter”, or carta, meaning paperboard or card. Originally it indicated card games in general.

物語なのではないか。そう思っていた時期が私にもありました。
いや、一部真面目な内容もあるんです。作者の白鳥士郎先生が地道に取材して見えてきた日本農業の今後とか
真剣に考えなきゃいけない問題を提起してくれることもあるんです。
ですが、基本的にはパロディ満載、頭を空っぽにして楽しめる作品です。
だって、タイトルが既に某軽音楽部的な雰囲気が・・・。

物語の舞台は岐阜県立田茂農林高等学校。

結構ほのぼのしていて安心してみられると思います。しかし、ファンタジーの魔法と剣と悪魔との戦いを望む方にも、十分楽しめるシーンもちゃんと用意されているのがサービスいいなと思いました。
アニメは終わっていますが、原作は10巻まで刊行されています。内容的には二期もアリかな、と思います。アニメの続きを知りたい人は要チェックです。
