昨日、山田さんから、彼が早期退職することを聞きました。私は、少なくとも新しい社長が決まる迄は、全面的にＩＢＭの日本でのビジネスに関与し、最善の努力をするつもりです。

また、ＮＥＣの鈴木社長の転出が、本日発表されました。新しい社長候補は田中さんといって、私の一年後輩の古くからの友人です。私は、鈴木さん同様に田中さんと強い信頼関係を持つことが出来ると思います。

I heard from Mr. Yamada that he will take early retirement. I, at least, am going to do my best to fully contribute to IBM business in Japan until a new president is decided.

Also, the move-out of the president Mr. Suzuki of NEC Corporation was announced today. A new president candidate is Mr. Tanaka, who is one of my old friends younger than I by one year. So, I think I can establish as strong relationship with Mr. Tanaka as with Mr, Suzuki.
