アメリカへ来て思ったことの一つとして募金をすることやボランティアをすることにアメリカ人と違い日本人はいくらかの抵抗があるということです。
宗教による違いはあるかと思いますが自分ではやりたいと思っていても恥ずかしさが先立ちます。
しかしこの特別メニューを選ぶことは自分の為でもあるので、なんの抵抗もなく社会貢献出来てしまうという点で画期的でした。

This is a system through which the worldwide disproportion between the advanced countries which have excess foods and the developing countries which are suffering from the shortage of foods.
One thing that I felt after coming here in the United States of America was that Japanese people feel somewhat reluctant to give donations or to do volunteer activities, compared to American people.
Perhaps there may be some difference arising from religions. I also feel shy even though I myself want to do something.
However, it is for myself to elect this special menu, so it was very revolutionary because I could contribute to the society without feeling any sense of shyness.
