・Many foreign tourists are very excited about visiting Kyoto. Can you tell us about what your guests are most pleased by when visiting the city?
"Few people, flowing water, and gardens with blooming flowers." Was the request of a Hollywood actress, so I recommended Taizo-in at the Myoshinji Temple. She was not disappointed!

・What are foreign tourists most confused by when visiting Kyoto for the first time?
That many places in the city don't accept credit cards as a form of payment. That wi-fi is limited. That they can't use English to communicate. That there are few places to withdraw money.

●What is the thing foreign tourists wants but you did not know before?
We have to say what we think cleary, unless we lose the trast.
We should not think they understanad us automatically.
Avoid ambigous comment, and it is important not to nod without any words.

●Would you tell me what you importance during escourt of foreign tourists.
I strive to use plain words to tell what Japan is, and it would be best

・"So this is how foreigners think!" Do you ever come across this feeling?
I feel like they think we can't be strong willed, and feel distrustful. I don't think they believe people will try to understand them. Be careful to avoid vague answers, and don't just smile and nod.

・Do you have a motto when escorting foreign tourists?
I try to use easy to understand keywords when guiding guests. I like to tell guests about Japan as it is, and turn a casual atmosphere into a memorable experience.

Do you have any experience that visitors from overseas think in fact like this?
They wouldn't trust us if we don't show our intentions clearly. It's better not think that they would understand us. We had better avoid giving them vague replies and pay attention to just keep nodding in silence.

Please share your thoughts about your best services that you can offer foreign visitors when you escort them.
Examples are that you try to use key words which they can understand easily or make efforts to change ordinary Japanese daily scenery into unforgettable moves.
