"Thermae Romae II", the movie currently showing. Together with its first movie, I push this move not only for Japanese people but also those of you from other countries!

The theme of this unique movie is about travelling back and forth between time and place of ancient Rome and Japan at present.

The funniest part of all is the main cast, Lucius the Roman thermae engineer is played by this Japanese actor whose Roman feature is far from Japanese.
Under the command of the Roman emperor, Lucius goes through a hard time to come up with a different and new thermae. In the end, a fantastic and unique idea hit upon him through his trip to today's japan where he gatheres hints from its bathing culture.

The movie is such a major entertainment with a pinch of romance. Don't be amazed too much by the numbers of Italian Operas incorporated in many scenes.

The currently airing ''Thermae Romae 2'' and its prequel are films I would like to recommend to people abroad.

The film revolves around bathing houses in ancient Rome and bathing in modern Japan.
It switches a lot between past and present and is very funny.

The actor playing the role of the Thermae architect Lucius is unbelievably a Japanese actor.
People with a strong face like this are rare in Japan.
Commanded by the emperor to make a new Thermae, he accidentally finds himself time traveling to modern Japan where he lays eyes upon the modern bathing culture there.
Using this knowledge he creates magnificent Thermae.

With some romance thrown in as well, the film is good entertainment.
The heavy usage of Italian opera is also one of the charms of the movie.

The "Terumaeromae 2" being released is which we recommend to foreigners as well as previous work.

It is interesting bath movie that the tangling the ancient Rome bath and Japanese bath, they come and go between present time and ancient.

How's that for the actor of Lucius as Terumae engineer is Japanese.
Such a craggy Japanese is unusual.
Under the command of emperor, he suffers torment of building up a new Terumae and he builds up great Terumae
by inspiring from Japanese bath culture which he was transported back in time to.

A big entertainment, drifting faint love as well.
Some of Italian opera being used a lot in the movie is also attractive.

A currently showing film Thermae Romae Ⅱ,
along with its previous series, is to be recomended to those from non-Japanese culture.

This funny 'bath' movie is about a coming and going between ancient Rome and modern Japan, showing unique culture of people enjoying public bath: Roman 'thermae' and Japanese 'furo.'

Supprisingly, the leading character Lucius, a 'thermae' engineer, is performed by a Japanese actor.
It's not so usual for a Japanese man having such a Western-like face.
Getting troubled under the emperor's order to construct a new bath, he somehow time travels to modern Japan, where he take some hints through Japanese 'furo' culture. And finally he succeed to produce a wonderful 'thermae' back in his own time.

Enjoy a great entertainment with a faint hunch of love.
Also, don't miss the attractive numbers from Italian opera throughout the film.
