近年バイオマスは多くの注目を集め、その資源化を目指す研究開発が世界中で盛んに行われている。その主な目的は、バイオ燃料や化成品の原料を生産し、石油の代替として利用することにある。こうした潮流の中、我々はさらなる有効利用法として、バイオマスから電気を生み出すための研究開発を行っている。そのプロセスは、バイオマスをグルコースに変換後、そのグルコースを燃料として発電する工程からなる。
