まるで、お寺か教会のようなカフェというかレストラン。要予約で2,500円のランチコースのみ。動物性タンパク質があまり無いタイプのオーガニックレストランがCAFE MILLET。

いわゆるマクロビオティックなどのオーガニック料理は僕は受け付けないのだけれど、ここのはそう違和感無く食べられる。京都の静原にあるこのレストランは、京都市内からはだいぶ離れていて気軽にふらっと行くという感じではない。
MILLET
It's a cafe/restaurant which somehow has the feel of a church or a temple. A reservation is required, and the lunch course is 2500 Yen. Cafe Millet is an organic restaurant which doesn't serve a lot fo animal proteins.

Normally I can't macrobiotic or organic food, but I seem to be able to eat the food without worrying here. It's located in Shizuhara, which is quite a long way from the centre of Kyoto, so you can't just casually pop down there.

As if it is a temple or a church like cafe or restaurant. Reservation is required for a lunch course with only¥2,500, An organic restaurant with barely any animal protein is CAFE MILLET.

So called macrobiotics, I don't really accept such organic cuisine, but dishes here can be eaten without uncomfortable feelings. This restaurant is at Shizuhara, Kyoto. It is a little bit apart from Kyoto, so it is not a place for you to just go in a short time.

CAFE MILLETの主人は隅岡樹里さん。
「ミレットは、雑穀という意味なんです。」
静原の実家を改装し、2007年にカフェとしてオープン。樹里さんのお父さんは写真作家で、家に訪ねてくる人もみんなお父さんの繋がりの一風変わった人達ばかりだった。そんな自由な環境で育っていった中、中学校2年生くらいで拒食症になり、なにも食べられなくなったことがきっかけで、野菜だけの料理をつくるようになった。

'The meaning of the word 'millet' is 'a type of grain.'
After refurbishing his family home in Shizuhara, Itsuki-san opened the Cafe. Itsuki-san's father was a photographer, and the people who'd come and visit at the house were often a little eccentric. Whilst living in that free-spirited environment, Itsuki-san developed Anorexia, and was unable to eat. As a result of this experience, Itsuki-san began to cook with vegetable-only ingredients.

Remodeled her parents' house in Shizuhara into the cafe which opened in 2007. Juri's father was a photographer so his friends who used to visit their home had each uniqueness. Grown up in such free environment, she suffered anorexia when she was in 8th grade and she could not eat anything. That motivated her to start cooking only with vegetables.
