We are a company based in Japan, and would like to be advised if we are required to obtain a VAT number. We have read various information on this on the internet, but could not tell which information is correct. There are many articles mentioning that a company needs VAT number only when that company does FBA sales. If we need to obtain VAT number, do we need only British VAT number or do we need VAT number for each countries within EU sales channel? Also, do we need VAT number for certain countries if we have orders from outside of UK through Amazon UK? If so, can you advise us which country's VAT we need to obtain?
