翻訳歴４年、オーストラリア・シドニー在住１８年目（2000年３月から）です。日本語⇔英語の翻訳をしており、医薬翻訳を勉強中です。レシピ電子本製作、代替医療書籍、旅行系からウェブサイトの英語化などを手がけてきました。原文の意味を忠実にもう一つの言語で表現することに気をつけており、直訳でも意訳でもない翻訳を目指しています。

経歴：　小学校時代の仲の良い友人がカナダとのミックスだったため、英語に興味を持ち、自然と英語を勉強し続けてきました。
日本では、ソニー株式会社で海外営業部に勤務したほか、アメリカ系、香港系の会社を経てUBS証券会社、ドイチェ証券会社の人事部で働いた経験があります。

現在はイギリス人の夫と2000年からオーストラリアのシドニーに住んでおり、永住権申請の際にも英語で仕事ができるレベルであることを認められ、IELTSは受ける必要がありませんでした。昨年のTOEICは980点でした。

医薬翻訳を勉強しているものの、まだ勉強中なので、いろいろなジャンルのお仕事をさせていただいております。
私にとって翻訳は楽しく、時間を忘れて取り掛かれる数少ない仕事です。翻訳を通して世界のさまざまな面が見られることや、どなたかのお手伝いをしている、と思えることがやりがいにつながっています。

I am a native Japanese freelance translator between English and Japanese with ４ years of experience. I have lived in Sydney, Australia since 2000. My past translation/writing works include Japanese cuisine recipe book in English, E to J translation of a book about alternative medicines, J to E translation of a website, travel related J to E translation and J to E recipe translation as well as various business documents.

I have 10 years of work experience in Japan including Overseas Sales Dept. in Sony Corporation, Human Resources in UBS Securities and Human Resources in Deutsche Securities.

My motto is to translate with the same meaning as in the original text without being too literal or take only the meaning of texts.
