日本語だけでなく、中国語や韓国語など、マルチバイト文字列を入力する環境では、同じ問題が発生します。
テキストの内容を文字列として取得するのか、キーボードの入力をシミュレートするのか、設定で変更できると良いと思います。
日本語環境で記録する際の動きをムービーに撮りましたので、確認してください。
