Approximate time required to get here from Hodo-zan main shrine is less than 1 hour by walking along the trail path and about 5min. by ropeway. It is considered as good luck to visit Hodo-zan because when written in Chinese characters, Hodo-zan means "Go up a treasure mountain". It would be nice to climb up slowly on foot as it is just 497m above sea leverl.

There are tea shops and souvenir shops on top of the mountain where you can enjoy local foods or purchase sovenirs.
The view from the summit offers different aspects of the place in all four seasons; wintersweet (Japanese allspice) in winter, cherry blossoms in spring, azaleas in early summer and colored maple leaves in autumn. You can enjoy amazake (sweet mild sake) or baked potatoes while having this nice view.
