If you plan to stay at Japanese-style hotels, it's good to learn the behaviors with understanding "wa," the Japanese heart. It's very important to understand each nuance of each taboo such as why it's rude stepping on "shiki-i", or why it's bad walking over "zabuton." I introduce "taboo" behaviors from when you check in to when you check out.
