Crowdfunding in Japan -- The world's most prominent photographer, JR, is bring his art project "Inside Out" to Japan.
"Inside Out" changes art from the expression of the individual to an international participation project. Participants take a black and white photo of themselves and send it to JR's specially made homepage. The portraits, uploaded as data, then are converted into large posters that are returned to the original photographer.

Crowdfunding in Japan: French Artist JR, a photographer capturing the most attention in the world, holds his art project “Inside Out” in Japan
“Inside Out” is an international participatory art project in which each individual’s existence is turned to an art work. Participants are free to hang that poster wherever they like, from their office window, to the outer wall of an abandoned building, to even a stadium wall. These displays will allow others to see the posters at will, and will allow the discovery and sharing of untold stories from people around the world

Then they can put up their posters on wherever they like, such as office windows, exterior walls of ruined building or stadium. Pictures of these Inside Out projects are available on the Internet for everybody to see images of people around the globe and discover untold stories and share them.
日本での＜インサイドアウト＞は、ポートレートを撮影するためのフォトブースとその場で大判のポスターを打ち出して参加者に手渡し出来るプリンターを装備した専用トラックが準備され、2012年11月ごろから東北の被災地をまわっている。被災地の人びとの素顔が通りに溢れ、大きな屋外展覧会となる予定だ。
¥2,000,000に設定された目標金額に対して、プロジェクトは2012/12/15に完了し、228人から¥2,554,548円を集めることに成功している。

'InsideOut' in Japan is visiting the affected areas in Tohoku since November 2012, after being prepared a dedicated track loaded with a photo booth to take portraits of people and a printer to print out large-sized posters and distribute them to the participant.
It will be a large open-air exhibition displaying natural faces of people in the affected areas on the streets.
The project was concluded successfully on December 15, 2012,raising ¥2,554,548 from 228 people to the target amount ¥2,000,000.

The “Inside Out” project in Japan has prepared a special truck equipped with a photobooth for taking portrait pictures and a printer which allows participants to paste their portraits immediately by printing out big posters and handing them out to participants on the spot. This truck has been travelling around disaster-struck areas in the Northeast Japan since November 2012. It is going to be a big outside exhibition with streets filled with a lot of portrait pictures of real people in the affected areas.
The Inside Out project aimed to raise 2 million yen. They reached the goal on Dec. 15, 2012, and successfully gathered ¥2,554,548 from 228 people in total.
