その理由が2つあります。
まず大きな一つ目として、ポイントだからこその有効性です。
一般的な報奨施策である現金とポイントの比較をしてみます。向かって左側が現金、右側がポイントの特徴です。


一般的に、最も喜ばれる報奨は現金支給です。ただ一方で、現金支給には「ありがたみが失われやすく、しばらくすると、もらって当たり前の感覚になる」という面があるのも事実です。

I think you may have grabbed to some extent about efficiency of point system.
Then why using point system leads to improve retention?
There are 2 reasons.
First of all as big, an efficiency that point system uniquely has.
Let’s compare point system with cash which is a general award policy. They are features of cash in the left and points system in the right.


Generally, the most pleased award is cash benefit. But on the other hand, cash benefit also as an aspect that “value can be easily lost, and people will have sense that being given is ordinary”, is a fact.

Well, if you use point system, how is it connected with improvement of retention?
There are 2 reasons for that:
First reason is that, because of points are effective by themselves.
Lets compare usual compensation measures, like cash money, and points. In the left side is moneys features and in the right side is points features.

Usually, the most delightfull compensation is money. But reality is that in case of money, there is a idea like "it is easy to loose value of money for you, and after time passed, receiving money for you will ordinary"

For the second one, in case of cash benefit, it hardly conveys value when its amount is small, but when points, they would be pleased since points has attribute that users would save even if small sum.
For the third one, not only result such as trading performance, it’s a feature of point system that it’s easy to evaluate for each process.
