However, MyUS, the forwarding company says "What's needed is EIN of the supplier and this is required by US government." That's why I asked whether you could obtain EIN or not. Forwarding method at MyUS has recently been changed, it depends on the staff but gradually it is being applied. Actually I have many fellow traders using MyUS, but there are only few who were asked for supplier's EIN. However, MyUS says in near future this procedure will apply to entire users. (As you say, currently most customers forward items to Japan without supplier's EIN. The reason is because currently MyUS is in a process of shifting their system and they cannot check all customer parcels whether each is required an EIN or not.)

Forwarding procedure for MyUS has just recently been changed, and the transition to the new process has been gradually taking place, depending on the contact persons. Do you have any Japanese customer using MyUS (who has similar address as my US domestic address)?
According to MyUS new regulation, supplier's EIN is required when purchasing over $2500 from same supplier. Therefore, if you have other Japanese customer who deals large amount, that customer will definitely ask you the same thing in near future. Even if they use other forwarding method, EIN is necessary under US law, so I guess you will be asked for the same thing anyways.

I'm sure among your Japanese clients there are traders who use MyUS (people with similar occupation as that of mine in USA) ? MyUS's new policy is that, in case of buying that exceeds $2500 on the same supplier, the supplier's EIN is required. Given the case, if there is another Japanese client conducting a large sum of transactions with you, certainly they would ask of you the same in near future. Even if they apply other shipping methods, EIN would be required in one way or another under US laws, so I consider asking of you the same nonetheless.
