Additional info: ある米国の仕入先から商品を日本へ輸入して販売しています。その際、米国内のMyUSという転送会社に荷物を集めて、日本へまとめて転送していました。しかし、最近、米国の法改正で海外への転送の際は仕入先のEIN(employer identification number)が必要になりました。これはEINを取得していない仕入先に送るメールです。

MyUSの転送法はつい最近変わったのであり、担当者にもよるが徐々に適用され始めている。現に私の同業者でMyUSを利用している者は沢山いるが、この仕入先のEINを要請されている者はまだごく少数だ。しかし、MyUSは近い将来この手続きを全ての利用者に徹底すると言っている。（現状は貴方の言うように、仕入先のEINなしで日本に転送できている顧客がほとんどである。というのも、MyUSは現在システム移行中であり、顧客の全ての貨物に対してEINが必要であるかをチェックしきれていないからだ）

Forwarding procedure for MyUS has just recently been changed, and the transition to the new process has been gradually taking place, depending on the contact persons. Actually, there are many who are in the same business, but there only a few of them that are being asked to provide EIN. MyUS, however, stated that they will be applying this new procedure to all of its users. (Currently, most of the customers can forward their packages to Japan without EIN from suppliers. This is due to the fact that MyUS is currently in the middle of migration of their systems, and they have not been able to verify the applicability of EIN for all of its customers’ freight.)
