CyberAgent Ventures funds Taiwan beauty social networking platform Fashionguide
Japanese VC firm CyberAgent Ventures has just invested in Taiwan based Fashionguide, a beauty and cosmetics social networking platform.
Straight after funding social food recipe sharing site iCook in Taiwan, Japan based CyberAgent Ventures now funds an undisclosed amount into beauty social networking platform Fashionguide. CyberAgent Ventures set up its office in Taiwan back in October 2011, and since then, funded dating website i-Part, restaurant review website iPeen, as well as social food recipe sharing site iCook. Fashionguide is now the fourth portfolio company of CyberAgent Ventures in Taiwan.

日本に拠点をおくCyberAgent Venturesは、台湾のソーシャルフードレシピ共有サイトiCookへの投資を行った直後、今度は台湾の美容ソーシャルネットワーキングプラットフォームFashionguideに出資をした（出資額は非公開）。CyberAgent Venturesは2011年10月に台湾にオフィスを開設し、それ以来、出会い系サイトのi-Part、レストランレビューサイトのiPeen、そして、フードレシピ共有サイトのiCookに投資を行った。FashionguideはCyberAgent Ventureが台湾で出資する4社めの企業となった。

ソーシャルレシピ共有サイトiCookに対するファンディングの後、日本を拠点とするCyberAgent Venturesは今、美容のソーシャルネットワーキングプラットフォームFashionguideに資金を提供する。出資額については未公開となっている。CyberAgent Venturesは台湾支社を2011年10月に立ち上げており、それ以来デートサイトi-Part、レストランのレビューサイトiPeen、そしてソーシャルレシピ共有サービスiCookに出資している。FashionguideはCyberAgent Venturesが台湾で4番目に出資した企業となった。

Fashionguide allows users to post reviews of beauty and cosmetics products. While the website relies a lot on user generated content, it is currently the largest website in this particular niche. According to TheNextWeb, CyberAgent Ventures says that the funds will be used to launch and support a new range of women’s lifestyle services. Fashionguide also have plans to expand its reach through its own mobile app, which is already in the works.
Fashionguideでは、ユーザは美容商品や化粧品のレビューを投稿することができる。同サイトはユーザが投稿するコンテンツに大きく頼っているが、現在、この特定のニッチな分野で最大のサービスとなっている。TheNextWebの記事では、資金は新たな女性向けのライフスタイルサービスをローンチしサポートするために活用される、とCyberAgent Venturesが述べている。また、Fashionguideはすでに制作中のモバイルアプリを通じてユーザを増やす計画も立てている。
Fashionguideでは、ユーザーが美容品および化粧品のレビューを投稿できる。同サイトはユーザーが生成するコンテンツにかなりの部分を頼るが、この分野において現在、最大のウェブサイトとなっている。TheNextWebによると、今回の出資金は新たに女性向けライフスタイル提案サービスを立ち上げ、サポートすることに使われるとCyberAgent Venturesは話している。さらに、Fashionguideはモバイルユーザーを取り込もうという計画を立てており、モバイルアプリについてはすでに準備を進めているという。
CyberAgent Venture’s Taiwan based representative Catherine Chang also tells TheNextWeb that they are interested in services that enhance and add value to the existing online shopping experience for users, often those will involve some sort of social layer.
“Social media is also where one of our core competencies lies in terms of our own group businesses and providing this type of know-how is where we believe as a financial backer we can offer valuable resources.”
