国際見本市連盟UFIは11月７日・８日の２日間、アラブ首長国連邦UAEの ADNECで第79回総会を開催。55か国から過去最多の475人が参加した。また連盟の会員数もこの１年間で36組織が加入し、85か国612社・団体と過去最多となった。

UFIの最高経営責任者ポール・ウッドワード氏は「このような厳しい経済状況のなかで会員数を増加できたのは、われわれの提供するサポートが展示会関係者にとって付加価値が高いと認識された証し」と語った。

The international trade fair association UFI held the 79th congress in ADNEC in UAE (United Arab Emirates) on November 7th and 8th. A record number of 475 people visited from 55 countries. And also the number of members of this association reached a record-high with 612 companies/organizations from 85 countires by adding 36 organization in this year.

Mr. Paul Woodword, CEO of UFI, said to us "This increase of members under such an adverse economic situation is a proof that our support is recognized by participants of the exhibition as high-value services".

総会では、中国展示場協会総裁の陳先進氏がアジア・中国から初の会長に就任した。現在ではUFI会員の約15％が中国の企業や団体となっている。同連盟の調査でも展示会産業のインフラ投資の多くが中国に集中し、世界の展示場面積増加分の46％を占めている。また、多くの国際展示会企業が中国に進出し成功を収めており、そのような状況のなかでの陳氏の会長就任は、世界の展示会産業における中国のプレゼンス向上を印象づけた。

次回の80回総会は来年11月13日から16日、韓国・ソウルで開催される。

During the congress, Mr. Xian Jin, president of China exibition association, was inaugurated as a first chairman from Asian and China. Nowadays, about 15% of UFI members consist of Chinese companies or organizations. According to the research by the associaion, majority of investment on infrastractures of exbition industry concentrate on China and 46% of increase of exibiton size in the world happens in China. In addition, many companies who run the international exibitions has succeeded in expanding their business into China. Under such cicumstance, the inauguration of Mr. Jin made emphasis on China's surge of its presense in the exhibition industry in the world.

Next 80th congress will be held in Seoul in South Korea from 13th to 16th of November next year.

第2部のパネルディスカッションでは、同協会会長の山本牧子氏をモデレーターに、The J Teamのゲライント・ホルト氏、コングレの野村佳世氏、ヒルトンワールドセールスのヨリス・ヴァンジリヘム氏が登壇。「現場のMICEプロが考える課題とレッスン」をテーマに、それぞれの経験に根ざした提言が行なわれる。

日本の職人にはシャイな人が多いです。

基本的にしゃべりません。

だけど、そこに内在されてた仕事に対する哲学はとても深いです。

職人の世界は弟子に教えると言う行為をしません。

基本的に仕事をしながら親方に怒られて弟子は仕事を覚えます。

弟子は親方の仕事のやり方を、盗んで覚えます。

弟子は仕事をさせてもらう前に、作業場の掃除や道具の手入れをします。

仕事をさせてもらう前が大変なのです。

今では、その風習は和らぎ、私も直接親方から教わりましたが、親方から昔の話を聞くと凄みを感じます。

Japanese artisans tend to be shy.

They normally don't speak.

However, they have very profound philosphy behind their work.

Artisans never teach apprentices directly.

Basically, apprentices learn how to work, being scolded by their masters.

Apprentices steal masters' way of working.

Before apprentices get a job, they have to clean up the workplace and care for their tools.

They have to experience hard time to get a job.

These days, that custom got less strict and I was taught by my master directly. But, I have sense of awe to the custom when I hear the story form the master.

「これくらいで作るんだ」
と感覚的に覚えるように促します。

やまとごころは12月5日に六本木アカデミーヒルズ、10日に大阪市中央公会堂の２会場で、「インバウンドフォーラム」を開催。「アジアメガ観光交流圏～日本の観光立国実現に向けて、今なすべきこととは？～」をテーマに、ドン・キホーテのインバウンドプロジェクトリーダーの中村好明氏が講演を行なう。
同氏は11月に、同社のインバウンドの取組みや日本の観光立国へ向けての提言など、インバウンド関係者へむけた「ドン・キホーテ流　観光立国への挑戦」を上梓。

Yamatogokoro is going to hold the "Inbound Forum" both at the Roppongi Academy Hills on December 5th and Osaka Chuo Kokaido on 10th. Mr. Yoshiaki Nakamura, a leader of the inbound project of Don Quixote, will have a presentation about "Great tourism area in Asia - What should be done to achieve the tourism-oriented country by Japan".
The speaker has written a book named "Challenge for the tourism-oriented country in Don Quixote's way" for the people involved in the inbound marketing and the book includes his company's effort for the inbound marketing and proposal for Japan to be the tourism-oriented country.

同展はあらゆる分野の文具関連製品が集まる展示会。昨年は210社が出展、世界中から1万5000人のバイヤーが参加した。香港玩具＆ゲーム・フェア、香港国際ライセンシング・ショーが同時開催となっており、関連分野のバイヤーにとっては多くの商談機会が提供され、参加意義の高いイベントとなっている。

HKTDC announced the sponsorship of the hotel for the stationary fair which is going to be held at the Hong Kong convention & exibition center from January 7th of the next year.

Every type of products related to stationaries gather into the exibition. 210 companies as exhibitors and 150,000 buyers from the world participated last year. This event has a big benefit for participants because it's going to held in the same period as Hong Kong toy & game fair and Hong Kong international licensing show and so buyers of related industry can enjoy a lot of business opportunities.

The content of aid program is that during 5 days from 6th (the day before the event) to 10th, new buyers who stay at hotels affiliated by HKTDC or Messe Frankfurt (Hong Kong) can enjoy discount of the accomodation cost by the amount based on how many days they parcticipate into the event; 1 day- 900 HK$, 2days - 1,500 HK$, more than 3 days - 2,100 HK$ (about 21,500 Yen). Each company can use this discount at a room of a hotel.

Additionaly, the official airline companies, Cathey Pacific and Dragon Air, are going to prepare special flight tickets for the participants of the exhibition.

They show works made by various techniques such as movie installation, installation, drawing and etc in the motif of the legendary stories and miths of all ages and cultures. Human desire and lessons are concentrated into the legends and miths in very symbolic ways. The essense of those are very primitive. Therefore, they speak kindly to us who are living now. The drawings are aimed at conctaining the abstract image of the motif. They attempt to make us feel abstractness as experiences through the installation and the movie installation.

Especially, the expression with the imaging techniques have an ability to appeal us with imaginary visual perception. I think that what attract viewers to the world of legends and miths are the imaginary visual expressions and the strange experiences with actual installation.
Quebec is a city where the history of French, British and Native Canadian remain. I am collecting anecdotes about the three types of culture through the life in Quebec. Secondly, I will make an analysis of the drawings on tha basis of the colected anecdotes. Thirdly, I will exhibit the drawings and work plans as a midterm presentation.

確かなことは勉強ばかりの生活をつらいと思ったこともないということだ。自分でも理解できないほどの強い決心があり、それが私を勉強に向かわせた。むしろその時期の私はつらいというよりもその生活に楽しさを感じていた。私には勉強を応援してくれる人がたくさんいたし、ラジオも私の味方だった。私の中で勉強を生活の中心にしたルーティーンをこなすことが楽しみになっていた。

I am sure that I have never thought the life dominated by studying was hard. My strong decision which even I couldn't understand enabled me to keep studying. I found even a joy in the life rather than pain. I had many supporters for my effort and the radio also supported me. Routines in the life centered on studyin became fun for me.
