Pointer.co.id Helps to Make Life Easier for Indonesian Travel Agents

Indonesian ticket booking platform Pointer.co.id uses a B2B business model to help travel agents in the country book flights, rather than just help customers directly buy tickets. We recently had a chance to speak with Agus Ismail, the founder of Pointer regarding the startup’s progress and plans.

Pointer is still a one year-old business, and in that short time it has been used by more than 250 agents in various cities in the country. Agus says that Pointer sells more than 12,000 tickets every month and has an average daily transaction volume of 400 tickets. Pointer has partnered with 11 airlines, including Garuda Indonesia and Air Asia.

Indonesiaのチケット予約プラットフォームであるPointer.co.idではB2Bビジネスモデルを用いることで単に顧客が直接チケットを買う助けになるというよりは、国内の代理店が飛行機を予約する助けになっている。最初のPointerの躍進や計画に携わった創設者Agus Ismail氏に最近お話を伺うことができた。

Pointerはまだ創立から一年しか経っていないが、その短い間に国内の様々な都市で250以上の代理店で利用されている。Agus氏によると、Pointerは月に12000枚のチケットを売り上げ、日に平均して400枚を売り上げる。PointerはGaruda IndonesiaやAir Asiaを含む11の航空会社と提携している。

In the beginning, Agus found that there were a lot of problems booking flights, not only for customers, but also for the service providers themselves. He also saw a promising market in the Indonesian travel industry as more and more people now want to open their own travel agencies. These two observations prompted Agus to develop Pointer. He adds:

Indirectly we also provide a solution to the problems faced by consumers, while also developing the SME sector in Indonesia.

最初に、Agus氏は飛行機を予約することに関して、顧客だけでなくサービス提供者自身にも多くの問題があることに気づいた。また、インドネシアでは自身で旅行代理店を開こうとしている人が多く、将来性のある市場であると思った。これらの二つの観察結果に基づき、Agus氏はPointerを立ち上げた。そして氏は次のように付け加えた。

私たちは顧客が直面している問題への解決策を提示しますが、一方でIndonesiaのSME部門を開発しているのです。

Just yesterday we looked at the latest stats for China’s daily deals industry and saw that Dianping has grown to become the nation’s fourth-largest group buy site in terms of market share. It took 8.3 percent of revenue in the sector in 2012 Q2. Dianping has been already pushing its mobile commerce, and recently revealed what its Android and iPhone users were buying.

ちょうど昨日、中国の日割取引に関する統計について調べて、Dianpingは国内で四番目に大きい市場シェアを占めるまでに成長していることがわかった。これは2012年の第二四半期でこの分野の歳入の8.3%を占めている。Diapingはまた、すでに携帯端末市場をも推し進めており、近年AndroidおよびiPhoneのユーザーが何を購入しているのかを発表した。

The French psychiatrist Perrier has stated flatly that the schizophrenic does not recognize himself in the mirror; he considers that this symptom shows that the patient has neglected adn lost his ego. Schulz has described a 25-year-old female patien whose depersonalization--- she felt her right arm was not connected to her body--- ceased when she was reassured about her body integrity by looking in the mirror. The experience of a probably paranoid schizophrenic observinghimself in mirros is also exsellently described in a novel by Simenon.
Schulz also reported a neurotic patient who would examine himself in the mirror while shaving and experience the recurring inner questions, ''Is that me?'' and ''Who am I ?''

フランスの精神科医ペリエ（Perrier）は精神分裂病患者は鏡の中の自分自身を認識しないと端的に発表した。彼はこの症状から、患者が無視され自尊心を失っていることがわかると考えた。シュルツ（Schulz）は、非人格化―右腕が胴体と接続していないと感じる―が、鏡を見て自身の体が完全であることを確信することにより治癒した25歳の女性患者について述べた。偏執的な精神分裂症患者が鏡の中の自分を観察する体験もまた、シメノン（Simenon）により小説の中でみごとに描写されている。
シュルツはまた、ひげそりの際に鏡の中の自分自身を観察し、心の中で「あれは私なのか？」「私は誰だ？」という彼の主体性への不安を表わしていると思われる質問を繰り返してしまう神経症患者を報告している。

Due to the social stigma of divorce and a strict moral sense, highly authoritarian women should be less likely to divorce than less authoritarian women if they end up in unhappy marriages. This suggests that many of them will not have good things to say about their partner, which will balance out the positive comments of authoritarian women in happy marriages. It is notable, though, that the more authoritarian women rated their husbands as particularly masculine and unloving. The former correlation makes perfect sense. Authoritarians tend to endorse traditional gender roles. For women, this means expressing a romantic interest in men who display masculine traits.

社会的に離婚が汚点であるとみなされていること、また道徳観念が厳しいことから、権威的な女性はそうでない女性に比べ、幸福でない結婚をしても離婚しない傾向にある。このことからそのような人の多くは、自らの配偶者について肯定的な意見を持つことが少ない。これは、そのような女性が幸福な結婚をしたときは肯定的な意見を持つこととちょうど対照的である。しかし、そのような女性は自身の夫をより男性的で愛情に欠けると評価していることは注目に値する。前者の関係性は完全に利にかなっている。相手に服従を期待する人は、伝統的な性的役割を支持することが多い。女性にとっては、これは男性的な男性に対して恋愛的興味を抱くということを意味している。
