It is widely believed that sunglasses really became 'cool' during the second world war when people viewed photographs of prominent military figures such as General MacArthur wearing them. スペースXは2012年5月22日に無人宇宙船「ドラゴン」を搭載したロケット「ファルコン9」を打ち上げ、民間の宇宙船としては初めて国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）とのドッキングに成功した。

Mr.Eron Mask, the CEO of Tesra Moters, who is the founder of X.com, the forerunner of PayPal, had started up a venture Space X for logistics service in the Universe in 2002, 10 years ago.

It had launched "Falcon 9" loading "Dragon", a crewless spacecraft, which had successfully docked with ISS (International Space Station) as a private spacecraft, on 22nd May, 2012.

民間による宇宙事業の始まりを告げる出来事である。さらに10月8日、ドラゴンは再度物資をISSに届けるために発射された。アメリカ航空宇宙局（NASA）は、スペースX社と総額16億（約1256億円）で12回の打ち上げを契約しており、これはその1回目。

It was a beginning of space industry by private. Dragon launched for supply to ISS again on 8th Oct which was a first launch of total 12 of a contract made with NASA amounting to total USD 1.6 billion (aprox. YEN 125.6 billion).

そのX Prize Foundationが運営し、Googleがスポンサーとなっているコンテストが、『Google Lunar X Prize』である。

It is the "Google Lunar X Prize" managed by X Prize Foundation, sponsored by Google.

Google Lunar X Prizeは、2007年に開始された「民間が開発した無人探査機で月面を探査し、規定の条件をクリアしたチームに賞金が与えられる」という宇宙開発コンテストである。最高賞金として2000万ドル、期限は2015年12月31日だ。コンテストには、優勝候補のNASAと技術開発契約を結んでいるAstrobotic等、世界各地の国籍から25チームが参加しており、日本からも参加しているチームがある。

On Google Lunar X Prize, a private company win a prize of max USD 20 million by their crewless space probe satisfying general conditions by the deadline 31 Dec, 2015. Total 25 teams from all over the world have joined to this competition including Astrobotic, a promising winner contracting with NASA for technical development, and a team from Japan.

チーム名は『White Label Space』。『White Label Space』は月面ローバー（探査車）を日本の民間組織において独自に開発している。

It is called "White Label Space", which is developing a moon probe privately in Japan.

打ち上げるロケットの重量が大きくなると、それに伴い費用も上がってしまう。現在、White Label Space（WLSJ）のチームは、ローバーの小型化を目指して開発を進めている。今回Campfireで資金調達を行うにあたって目標とした金額の200万円は、小型ローバーのプロトタイプの製作費および一部の実験費に充てられる。

WLSJ have been developing a space probe to make it more compact as the cost of launching increases by the weight. The YEN 2 million of a goal of Campfire will be used for the developing and some experimentation of a proto type compact probe.

White Label Space（WLSJ）はクラウドファンディングサービス、Campfireにおいてプロジェクトを開始した。理由は先にも述べたように、宇宙開発には莫大な費用がかかるためだ。Google Lunar X Prizeで優勝できれば、約16億円もの賞金が手に入るが、ローバーの開発やそれを月へ送るロケットの打ち上げには費用がかかる。

WLSJ have started up a project in Campfire, a crowd-funding service, to cover the large amont of cost for development of the Space, as we have mentioned earlier. Developing a space probe and launching it to the moon costs a lot, even though if they win a 1.6 billion YEN of the Google Lunar X Prize.

民間発の宇宙開発でも、莫大な費用がかかる。それを促進・援助する財団も存在する。ピーター・ディアマンディスが設立した『X Prize Foundation』がその代表だ。X Prize FoundationにはGoogleを立ち上げたラリー・ページ、セルゲイ・ブリン、マイクロソフトのビル・ゲイツのビル&メリンダ財団、Amazon.comのジェフ・ベゾス、ヴァージンのリチャード・ブランソンなど、インターネットビジネスの”成功者”が数多く関わっている。

The X Prize Foundation founded by Mr.Peter Diamantis is one of foundations to promote and help developing the Space which costs a lot even by the private company. Many successes by the internet business have things to do with X Prize Foundation, such as Larry Page (a founder of Google), Sergey Bullin, Bill & Melinda Fund (by Bill Gates of Microsoft), Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com), Richard Brandson (Virgin Group).

PrerunnersのBlild動画を拝見していたんですが、見れば見るほどプレッシャーを感じてしまうような気持ちになりますね。
