スバル（富士重工）の新型FRスポーツカー、『BRZ』。同車に設定が噂される高性能グレード、「STIバージョン」に関して、興味深い情報をキャッチした。

これは28日、自動車メディアの『Auto EXPRESS』が伝えたもの。

"SUBARU BRZ ST Version - 250ps with Naturally Aspirated Engine?!"

"BRZ", a new type FR sportster of SUBARU (Fuji Heavy Industries).
We've caught interesting information on the high-grade "ST Version", which is allegedly equipped with BRZ.

"Auto EXPRESS", one of car media, has informed about it on the 28th.

同メディアのインタビューに応じた富士重工グローバルマーケティング本部の安宅淳氏は、STIバージョンについて、最大出力は250psレベルへ引き上げ、エンジンの最大許容回転数も7500rpm付近まで高めることを示唆したというのだ。

ノーマルのBRZは最大出力200psだから、気になるのは、50psものパワーアップの手法。果たして、ターボ化はあり得るのか。

安宅氏は、エンジンルームにインタークーラーを追加するスペースがないことから、ターボ計画を否定。

According to the above mentioned media, Mr. Atsushi Ataka, who is in charge of the project at the HQ of Global Marketing Sec. in Fuji Heavy Industries, has alluded in the interview with them that the maximum output will be increased to the equivalent level of 250ps as well as the arrowable maximum speed, which is to be raised till around 7,500 rpm.

Considering the fact that BRZ has only the maxmum output of 200 ps normally, the concern is how they could power up the value by 50 ps. Would the turbo-charged version be feasible?

Mr. Ataka denies the possibility of turbo-charged version, indicating that there should be no more space for an additional intercooler in the engine room.

また、STIバージョンでは軽量化も推進。安宅氏は、「カーボンファイバー製ルーフやバケットシートなどの採用により、車両重量を1250kg程度に抑える」と話したとのこと。STIバージョンには、大いに期待してよさそうだ。

He told them allegedly (at the interview), "We will pursue the way to power it up by tuning the air intake and exhaust system, such as the variable valve timing control".

The weight reduction is also promoted for the STI Version. Mr. Ataka apparently said, "The weight of vehicle can be around 1,250kg or less than that, as it will adopt the roof or the bucket seat, which should be made of carbon fiber".

He made us assure that STI Version could live up to our expectation.

The holes were found in two of three pieces at the last order, while one of two pieces has holes in the order before that, but I did not report it to you, as I thought it was only a rare case.
Therefore please wrap the products with Bubble Wrap from now on, so that no holes should be made.
Would that be possible for you to provide us with two Tripod cases for free?
