伊東ひさし氏は、モノクロ写真で国際的な名声を得た写真家である。
光の効果と高い技術を屈指して、被写体の精神状態を浮かび上がらせるかのような強く独創的な個性を写真に与えている。
伊東氏の音楽への情熱は仕事にも反映している。セリーヌ・ディオン、ジャンナ･ナンニーニといったミュージシャンのポートレートを撮影しており、今日では世界中のアーティストから撮影の要望を受けている。
東京で開催されたFestivalの公式写真家も務めるなど、日本で開催される主要な音楽イベントでの撮影も行っている。

Ito's passion for music is also reflected in his work. He has shot portraits of musicians such as Celine Dion and Gianna Nannini and now receives photo shoot requests from artists around the world
He has also served as the official photographer of festivals held in Tokyo and takes pictures at major music events held in Japan.
2004年からは、イタリアでも定期的に展覧会を行っている。
京都とフィンレツェの姉妹都市協定40周年を記念するイベントでは「京都と舞妓」をテーマにした写真展を行った。
私は十人兄弟の末っ子として神奈川県の横須賀市に生まれました。父も兄弟も職人をしていた家庭の中で育ちました。
そのため、幼い頃から手を動かして色々なものを作ることが好きでした。
9歳のとき、ポジフィルムと段ボールを使って映写機を作ることに成功し、それからというもの 家の中の狭い押入が お気に入りの遊び場になりました。
Since 2004, I have held exhibitions in Italy on a regular basis.
I did a photo exhibition on the theme of “Kyoto and Maiko" at an event to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the sister city agreement between Kyoto and Florence.
I was born in Yokosuka in Kanagawa Prefecture as the youngest of ten children. I grew up in a home where my father and brothers were craftsman. Therefore, I loved making things using my hands from an early age.
At the age of nine, I succeeded at making a projector using cardboard and positive film and from that point the small closet in my house became my favorite playground.
手作業によるものづくりは今も私の習慣になっています。
17歳のとき、私はデザイナーになるという夢を持っていたため、横浜にあるデザイン研究所に通いデザインの基礎を学び始めました。
翌年、私のデザイン企画のために 写真撮影の依頼をしましたが、そのとき何度も試行錯誤したにもかかわらず、私が望んでいたようには仕上がりませんでした。そこで私は写真技術についても興味を持ち、まもなく写真が自分にとってとても魅力的な存在であることに気づきました。
At the age of 17 I had a dream to become a designer and so I began to attend the Design Institute in Yokohama to learn the basics of design.
The following year, I submitted a request for a photo shoot for one of my design projects, but even through numerous attempts at trial and error, I could not get the finished product that I was hoping for. After that I also became interested in photographic technology and I soon realized that the photography was something very appealing for me.
私は独学で写真技術を学び始め、できる限りの時間を勉強に充てるようにしていました。昼夜問わず、電車の中から浴室・トイレまで、いたるところで常に本を片手に時間を惜しむようにして学んでは、それを実践するようにしていました。
私は、やがてモノクロ写真に 感光紙の現像用液、着色用の溶液など様々な製品や素材を組み合わせながら自分で色をつけていく手法に惹かれるようになりました。私はすぐにこの技術を上達させ、その熱意を今度は仕事へと結び付けていくことができるようになりました。
Before long I became fascinated by a technique where I would apply the colors to black and white photos myself while combining a variety of products and materials such as development liquid for photosensitive paper and color solution. I was soon able to improve this technique and started to be able to apply that enthusiasm to my work.
このようにして自分の目標に一歩でも近づくようにと心がけながら日々過ごしておりました。
1965年に私は初めてイタリアの音楽と出会い、すぐにその虜となりました。その曲は Quando l'amore diventa Poesia、他にも「Magia」など彼の音楽は随分と聴いていました。
イタリアの音楽は私の人生にとってかけがえのないものとなり、今日でもそれは変わりません。
写真と音楽への情熱というものを両方あわせもっていたため、私は音楽家の写真を撮ることを仕事にしようと決意しました。
1986年に東京の目黒にスタジオを構えると、その場所が写真を介して私が世界と結びつくための拠点となりました。
現在はCＤジャケット写真のほかに 音楽誌やファッション・芸能誌、広告の写真撮影、写真専門学校では後進の指導にもあたっております。
今までに 次のような国際的に活躍される音楽家の方々とお仕事をご一緒させていただきました。
この度は、私が音楽を愛好するきっかけを作ってくれたイタリア、その中心に位置するフィレンツェで作品を展示することができることを大変誇りに思っております。
第13回フェスティバル・ジャポネーゼ 写真展『 江戸遊戯（江戸からの逃避）』
日本は徐々にその伝統や文化を失いつつある。
写真家 伊東ひさし氏は、これらの写真を通してドキュメンタリーのように、日本の歴史のある一場面を鑑賞者に示したいと考えた。
このようにして、伊東氏は 歴史が目を向けずにいたために 日本人に忘れ去られていた時代の 日本の美を見出した。
『 江戸遊戯 』あらすじ
かつて…
貧しい農家の娘たちが売られる置屋（遊郭とよばれる界隈にある）というものがあった。娘たちはどこへ連れて行かれるかも知らずに
ここへやってきて、やがてその運命の厳しさを知ることになる。この作品では、江戸の遊郭から逃げ出す少女たちの物語を描いた。
少女たちは遊郭からの追っ手を避けて逃げるうちに道に迷い、やがて山寺まで辿り着くことになる・・・。
