Shop Fair Conference: E-commerce Highlights in Indonesia
We went to the Shop Fair event here in Jakarta few days ago, and really had a lot of fun. What grabbed our attention most was the e-commerce fair where we met some very interesting people with great e-commerce ideas. Here are just a few:
Heatwave
Heatwave (pictured below, left) was one of the busiest booths at the shop fair as they gave out a 15 percent discount to all customers who liked their Facebook page at the fair. What do they sell? Women’s shoes, both offline and online.
ジャカルタで開催されたShopFair Conferenceに行ってきた。本当に楽しいイベントだった。一番目を引いたのはeコマースフェアで、そこで素晴らしいeコマース事業を展開している非常に興味深い人達に出会うことができた。そのeコマース事業のいくつかを紹介しよう。
Heatwave
Heatwave（写真下、左）は、同社のFacebookページが気に入ったすべての顧客に対し15％のディスカウントを提供していたので、イベントのなかでも最も人気のあるブースのひとつだった。何を販売しているかというと、オンライン／オフラインで女性用の靴を販売している。
Heatwave is a Singapore-based women’s fashion store, it has been in business for seven years now and has had its online store open for about a year. The fashion store already has a strong customer base in Indonesia as its Indonesian Facebook page has almost 400,000 likes and is averaging about 100 transactions every day.
When ordering online, customers can pay via bank transfer or credit card. And if they order the wrong shoe size they can simply return the shoes to Heatwave (though they must pay the delivery charges).
オンラインの注文では、銀行振込かクレジットカードを利用することができる。サイズを間違って注文した場合には、（送料は利用者の負担だが）Heatwaveに靴を返品することもできる。
オンラインで注文する場合、顧客は銀行振込かクレジットカードで支払いができる。注文した靴のサイズが違ったときは、Heatwaveに返品することもできる（ただし送料は負担しなくてはならない）。
Konek.Us
Konek.Us (pictured below, right) is an interesting Indonesian logistics startup. Its specialty is its COD (Cash on Delivery) service. How does it work? In Indonesia, COD is still the most popular payment system, so if merchants are in need of help to conduct COD, they can use Konek.Us’ service.
When someone uses the COD service, the delivery person comes to their house to pick up the product for sale and then delivers the product to the customer. The money is then wired back to the seller after the transaction is completed. Konek.Us can also help you out with unique bird cage product packaging, but it’ll cost more.
At the moment Konek.Us is still focusing on the Jakarta area, but it plans to expand to other cities and provinces in near future.
TackThis
TackThis is a Singapore-based company (pictured below, left) that helps online merchants to set up their shopping platform on popular social media and blogs. It also helps merchants out on the payment methods through ATMs and Paypal.
Damian from TackThis commented about the fair:
So far it’s not too bad, a couple of retailers asked about us. The most important part of the fair for us would be its networking event where we can chat and meet with new merchants and interested partners.
シンガポール企業のTackThis（写真下、左）は、オンライン小売業者を支援し、彼らのショッピングプラットフォームを人気のソーシャルメディアやブログに設置している。また、ATMやPaypalを通じた決済支援も行っている。
同社のDamianはShopFairについて次のようにコメントをした。
「今のところ、まあまあです。数社の小売業者から問い合せがありました。このフェアで、新しい小売業者や関心を持ってくれるパートナーに出会って話をし、ネットワークづくりをすることが私達にとって一番重要なことです。」
Deal Going
Deal Going (above right) is an Indonesia-based daily deals aggregator and marketplace website. It recently announced the grand launch of its new feature Discount Mall which we covered a bit yesterday.
Deal Going had Indonesian electronics manufacturer Zyrex acting as one of its Discount Mall merchants. They were giving discounts on new Zyrex smarphones and several other products at the fair. Interestingly, Deal Going also gave away some of Zyrex smartphones as doorprizes for the lucky ones who left their business cards with Deal Going.
Deal Going（写真上、右）はインドネシアの日替わりクーポンサイトのアグリゲーター兼マーケットプレイスのウェブサイトだ。昨日Tech in Aisaでも少し紹介したとおり、Deal Goingは新しいサービスのDiscount Mallのグランドオープンを発表したばかり。
インドネシアの電子機器メーカーのZyrexもDiscount Mall販売者の1社として参加していた。Deal GoingとZyrexは今回のフェアで、新しいZyrexのスマートフォンやその他いくつかの商品をディスカウント価格で提供していた。興味深かったのは、Deal Goingが同ブースに名刺を置いて行ったラッキーな人にZyrexのスマートフォンのいくつかを景品として渡していたことだ。
iPayMu
iPayMu is a company that helps merchants solve their online transaction problems. iPayMu has 87 banks as partners to enable online transactions through ATM and debit cards. It looks to secure deals with bank giants Bank Central Asia (BCA) and Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) to help with credit card online payments.
iPayMu supports Deal Going’s Discount Mall payment method by establishing Go Pay. iPayMu has had two years of solid preparation before all this and is looking forward to its official launch in the near future.
iPayMuは、小売業者がオンライン取引で抱える問題を解決するサービスを提供している。iPayMuはパートナーとして87行の銀行と提携し、ATMやデビットカードでのオンライン決済ができるようにしている。Bank Central Asia(BCA)やBank Negara Indonesia(BNI)などの大手銀行と提携し、オンラインでのクレジットカード決済支援を目指している。
iPayMuは、Go Payを開発してDeal GoingのDiscount Mallのオンライン決済を支援している。iPayMuはこれ以前に2年におよぶしっかりした準備を行い、近い将来、正式にローンチすることを目指している。
There are also other interesting booths present at the fair, you can check them all out here. I’d say all in all, the fair was quite fun as we could meet up with a lot of the Indonesian e-commerce players at the event. Great to catch up with them, and great to meet and connect with the new e-commerce startups as well. Definitely a good event to meet people.
