Director Yoshiharu Yamamoto Chief Executive Officer of Honda (President of Honda R&D Co.,Ltd.) was interviewed in the Saitama prefectural office, and said on the 27th about the "solar hydrogen station" installed in the prefecture agency, "Although there are many issues, such as cost, we would like to aim at spread at home in the future."

On the same day, Saitama Prefecture and Honda started the actual proof experiment of the solar hydrogen station commissioned by the Ministry of Environment.
A hydrogen station has been developed in collaboration with IWATANI INTERNATIONAL, and has introduced the hydrogen manufacture equipment which adopts the "difference pressure type high-pressure water electrolysis system" for the first time in Japan.

This system is based on the specific technology of Honda,

the same experiment has been conducted since 2010 also in the R&D center in the United States.
When electrolyzing water and obtaining hydrogen, it is controlled so that hydrogen serves as high pressure. The compressor which was formerly used becomes unnecessary, which has made stations much compact and less noisy, therefore, Honda concludes that the deployment to homes in the future is not impossible, either.

The station which began the experiment uses photovoltaics and purchased electric power together for electrolysis. Chief Managing Director Yamamoto said, "we would like to check various aspects by actual proof experiment, such as issues in the function to be supplied to a car and its durability, issues in the future development, among others."
