XD SWIVEL HEAVY DUTY BIPOD INSTALLATION
The XDS Bipod comes equipped with an integrated dovetail interface.
This connector is designed to fit MIL-STD-1913 dovetail as well as Weaver style.
With the bipod legs facing forward, slide the dovetail interface onto the weapons dovetail,and then secure it by rotating the interface thumbnut in a clockwise direction until tight.
This causes the integral recoil lug of the attachment interface to engage the recoil cross slot of the dovetail rail.
The recoil lug must fit into the recoil cross slot on the rail to insure proper engagement. XD SWIVEL HEAVY DUTY BIPOD LEG DEPLOYMENT AND ADJUSTMENT
The legs of the bipod are deployed by depressing the spring actuated grooved locking levers.
The tapered design of the locking leavers provide an extremely rigid mechanism.
The spring system provides two activation methods,
(1) Depress the locking/latch lever and rotate the leg allowing the lever to snap into position.
(2) Depress the locking/latch lever and maintain manual control of the locking /latch levers for
the duration of the locking sequence,thereby providing silent operation. The XDS Bipod is capable of 25 degrees of cant on each side of the centerline of the barrel.
This feature increases rough terrain adjustability.
A thumbnut operated fully adjustable tension mechanism,allows for the tension on the canting mechanism to be adjusted to best suit the terrain and mission requirement.
Rotate the thumb nut to obtain the desired tension.
A slotted screw on the bottom of the cant tensioning humbnut provides the ability to preload the cant tension beyond the normal tension load of the thumbnut. The leg assemblies are a telescoping design.
The height is adjusted by rotating the thumbnuts attached to the lower portion of the legs.
This releases tension and allows the legs to smoothly and quietly adjust to the required height.
The integrated stops prevent the inner tube from being completely removed.
MAINTENANCE
The major components of the XDS Bipod are manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum and Type � Hard Anodized.
It is an extremely rugged finish that dose not require specific maintenance.
However, if exposed to harsh or wet environments, it is recommended that the same maintenance practices be applied to the XDS Bipod as the weapon on which it is installed
