日本の冬のwildlifeは基本的に北海道(Eastern Hokkaido)で観察できるのだけど、Snow Festivalの後にEastern Hokkaidoを周って、そのあとHistorical Places(Kyoto)となると8-10日間では足りなくなってしまう。ちなみに北海道にはhistorical placesはありません。
Although wildlife in winter basically observed in Eastern Hokkaido, Japan, it will be never enough for 8 to 10 days since you visit the Snow Festival, then touring around Eastern Japan, and after that experiencing Historical places in Kyoto. For your information, there are no such historical places in Hokkaido actually.
あと、北海道の動物はショートレンズで満足する写真が撮れるかな。
私は北海道の野生動物を撮るときは150-600mm lensesを使っているよ。
近くで観れる動物はJapanese Cranes/Swans/Eagles/Fox/Ezo Deers
動物撮影を外しても良ければEastern Hokkaidoはなくしても良いと思う。

And, also, are you able to shoot good enough photos of wildlife in Hokkaido using a short lens?
I use a 150-600mm lens when shooting wildlife in Hokkaido out there.
The wildlife you might see are: Japanese Cranes/Swans/Eagles/Fox/Ezo Deers
Otherwise, you can remove Eastern Hokkaido from the plan if you may exclude shooting photos of wildlife.
