神は絶対的存在、絶対的善である。彼がこの１０～１３巻で神の天地の創造に思いを巡らせるのは、私たち人間の世界や人生の目的が神に向かうのでなければ虚しい…と言うことを論証するためであると言って良いだろう。人間の欲求を終局的に満たすものはただ神のみである、と言う事をアウグスティヌスは天地創造の聖書の言葉から述べているのである。
神によって神に似せて造られた被造物である人間は、終極的には神によってしか"救い"、"幸せ"が得られないと言う思想である。
God is an absolute being, and absolute good. It can't be said that he thinks about the creation of the heaven and earth of God in this volumes 10-13 to demonstrate that our world of human beings and the purpose of life are vain unless it's focusing toward God. Augustine says that only God alone will ultimately satisfy human needs, by using the Biblical words of heaven and earth creation.
It is an idea that human who are creation made by God in resemblance to God can only obtain "salvage" and "happiness" by "God" in the end.
