The tin litho is bright and glossy with some minor rubs and scratches. Popeye's pants are intact and untorn but do have some wear and could stand to be cleaned. The windup works very well; when wound, Popeye takes off staking in a rhythmic fashion, standing upright with his tray of spinach and then leaning over to skate. The box is a reproduction but displays very well with the original toy. Some of the best Popeye toys ever were produced for Linemar by TPS. The TPS designers were genius at making a painted piece of tin look like a living comic book character. I hate to let this one go; this is a wonderful tin windup in very good, all original condition.
