近年MTBは、本来の目的をよそにちょっとオシャレな自転車として、街中
でもよく見かけます。ですがこのMTBはオフロードで走ってこそ本来の力
を発揮するものなのです。なぜならば、今から５０年ほど前のアメリカ
西海岸で産声を上げました。きっかけは、地元の中学生が、山を走る
ためだけに古い自転車（クランカーズ＝おんぼろ）に改造を重ね、
海岸線を見下ろす「自然豊かな山々から駆け降りよう！」がアメリカ
全土に広がり、ブームを巻き起こしたのが始まりであるからです。

However this MTB demonstrates it's original power when running off-road.
This is because it was born in the West Coast of America prior to 50 years from now.
The opportunity started because the local junior high students repeatedly do remodeling of old bicycle (Clan Cars = worn-out) only for the purpose of running on the mountain and to look down the coast line spreading the
"Let's run past and go down from nature's rich mountains" throughout the country and sparked a boom.

Apart from a primary purpose, MTB is seen as a stylish bycicle which you encounter often at a downtown in recent years. However, this MTB performs best when it runs off-road. It was born in the west coast of the US fifty years ago. What triggered the creation of MTB was the sensational boom "Run down mountains with abundant nature", initially led by the local junior-high students who continued to remodel old bycicles (Clunkers) just to run up the mountains and overlook coast lines.

Lately, you often see the MTB used for improper purposes in a town as the stylish bicycle. However, the MTB takes full advantage of it's strengths in going off-roading. The MTB was created about five decades ago on the west coast of the US. It all started from a bicycle boom. Local junior high school students created old bicycles, called Klunkerz, especially for going off-roading and said "Let's go down hills with abundant nature" looking down the coast line, spreading across the US.
