東方作品にしては珍しく帽子やリボンをつけておらず、代わりに大きな日傘を持っていることが多い。
よく太陽の畑という一面向日葵で埋め尽くされている場所で活動している。
また人間の里の花屋にも顔を出すという事もあります。

強い妖怪ではあるが、本気で勝負を仕掛けることは滅多になく、他の強い妖怪同様基本的には住処から動かない。
しかし他人をいじめることが大好きで、よく人間や妖精にちょっかいを出している。
能力は花を操ることが出来る能力。
この能力自体は戦闘には不向きで、枯れた花を生き返らせたり花の向きを変えたりするだけのものである。
幽香自身の妖怪としての力が非常に高いため、本人の戦闘力は非常に高い。
原作でも鈍足だが力で攻めるタイプとして使用されます。

同人誌では他人をいじめるという設定から、ドSキャラクターとして描かれることが多くいろいろな人をいじめています。
