試験は一年に一回あるんですが、私は二回受けました。
一回受けて落ち、２回目で受かりました。
二回目の試験を受ける一週間前に私は実技試験の練習をしている最中誤って自分の
足の指を切り落としてしまい大けがをしました。右足の中指の爪の上半分を切り落として
しまったのですが、１０針くらい縫いました。試験当日は包帯巻いてびっこ引いて実技試験を受けました。
何とか気合いで乗り切り、試験に合格することができました。
怪我をした指もくっついて元通りになりました。

The examination is held once a year, but I took it twice.
I took it once and failed, and then I took it a second time.
One week before I took the exam a second time, in the middle of practising for the practical exam, I accidentally clipped my own toe and had a serious injury. I clipped the top portion of my left foot's middle toenail and got about ten stitches. On the day of the exam, I took the practical while limping with a bandage wrapped around my foot.
Somehow I overcame everything with my fighting spirit and was able to pass the exam.
The toe that was injured also stuck on and returned to how it was before.

ちゃんと表装ができているか。
ちゃんと表具のすばらしさを人に伝えられるか。
表具をし続けることは、刷毛を持ち続けること。
表具以外のことにとりかかり、刷毛を何日か持たないとその技術は鈍ります。
だからこそ、技は磨き続けなければいけません。
一生、修行です。

To continue paper hanging means to always have a paintbrush.
If I do something other than paper hanging for few days without paintbrush, my technique will deteriorate.
That's why I need to continue to polish my technique.

I feel like I've received more responsibility since getting certified.
Am I mounting things well?
Am I properly conveying how wonderful mounting is?
To continue mounting is to continue holding a paintbrush.
Just like painting, if you go too long without mounting, your talents dull.
That's why I must continue to polish my craft.
It's a practice that will take a lifetime.
